If you're thinking of DRM and programs that check your hardware and feed it back to EA, it tends to be their new games on Origin.

Maybe 20 years ago when those games came for free with your cereal box. Nowadays if you download these games it would be from shareware sites that don't include spyware. Even if it did include spyware I doubt its still able to send any data.

There are so few people playing these games even if EA could spy on them they wouldn't care. The data is pretty much worthless now.

What you heard was probably about SimCity 2013, the franchise killer.

But anyways, Theme Park and Theme Hospital are games from the DOS era of gaming, where such things were but a madman's dream.
