It was here, then pulled because the license expired. It was free a couple of times so maybe someone still has a key lying around.

It used to be here, but it left during the full handover to Gearbox. World Tour is almost certainly your best bet, I think in an update they added the unmodified .grp so you can just drop that into eDuke32, though of course, I'd wait for a sale, while I've heard the new episode is pretty good, it's also apparently not $20 amazing, especially since the Megaton Edition had three expansions for half the price.

If you want to play it in Dos, well, I think you might be SOL. I imagine that if it comes back it'll be the World Tour edition. Maybe someone has an extra copy of Megaton you could trade for?

You will not find it legally anywhere now, its gearbox's precious. They removed all trace of the original and only push the new version via steam as they are DRM only.

Old CD copes of the game are still floating around and work just fine. The disks use a 16-bit installer so DOSbox would make it easier to play. You will want the Atomic Edition or a copy of the original and the Plutonium Pak.

In terms of instant set up and play, the Gearbox collection isn't that bad other than price.

Get the physical disc off Amazon. I still own mine from childhood and it works fine.

Basically, Gearbox pulled all versions of Duke Nukem 3d From the market to bring out Duke Nukem 3d:World Tour.
The World tour is the only legal way you can buy Duke Nukem digitly now. GOG sold it until Gearbox pulled it.
Your best bet is to buy a used copy of the original CD and install it on a computer using DOSBOX. Just checked, and you can pick up a used copy of the Duke Nukem Atomic Edtion CD at amazon for a buck plus shipping. The game was so popular that there are plenty of copies still floating around.


There is also Eduke 32, basically a dos simulator designed specifically to play Duke Nukem. All you need to is install Educk and then paste the grp fiels from a Duke Nukem cd into the e duk program.
