Hi,

I just bought the enhanced Doom (1993 version) so I could play it multiplayer on my LAN at home, but it doesn't seem to work.

I've started a copy on two PCs on the same network, but they don't seem to join the same multiplayer game. They each seem to start their own game, rather than join the one created by the other PC.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks,

MG

Source port or dosbox?

If dosbox, have you seen this:

Not sure if it works, but found it with a quick Google.

It's actually this version that says it supports multiplayer: https://www.gog.com/en/game/doom_1993

I'll give that video a watch.

Doom (1993) contains two versions; Doom 1 Enhanced and The Ultimate Doom.

Doom 1 Enhanced only supports local multiplayer (that is, on the same PC). Only The Ultimate Doom supports LAN multiplayer.

Ah, that helped me. Thank you.

Couldn't get it running via the setup program as for some reason "F10" acted the same as the escape key. However, running the dm.exe manually via dosbox worked. I had to setup the ipx connections manually as well.

Thanks again.
