Hi All,

CDPR generously gave me a copy of the witcher 3 goty edition, however given I have the original game with all of the dlc I'm not planning on using it. I haven't installed it, but can I still donate it to my friend?

if it's a code to redeem then I don't see why not I give my friends spare codes if I have the game already in the library.

Why did they give you W3 GOTY, if you don't mind me asking?

It's not completely clear but I'm seeing two scenarios:
1. CDPR added The Witcher 3 to your account + you have a retail code - you can give away the retail code - no probs
2. CDPR gifted you a code for The Witcher 3 - you can give your friend the code.

I'm guessing because he had W3 and the DLC.
I think they gave an upgrade code when you had all those.

That would make the most sense, in which case the answer is no as the purpose of giving people the GOTY edition was to save them needing different installers and not so they could gift it to others.

When CDPR released the GOTY the created new installers with all content included and a new library entry. GOGlodytes who already owned TW3 + both DLCs (which is the same as the GOTY, just with seperate installers and library entries) got an additional GOTY entry in their library.

However that's just for the sake of convenience and to keep people from repurchasing the GOTY when they already own all GOTY content. It's not a seperate code to be given away/converted to a gift code.

Oh Gog.. they should have made those codes personal..

It'd be really weird if people were getting free goatees. I certainly did not, GOG just added it to my library: OP, do you actualy have a code, or are you planning to trade away your library copy? Because the latter is not going to happen.

Eh, my comment was based on the OP.
If he didn't really receive an extra key (as it should be).. all is ok.

As I said, there is no code. They added a library entry. It cannot be given away or converted into a gift code by support.
