I recently received an anniversary coupon and started browsing their sites. Although most of their titles are available here, I noticed a few ones that caught my interest and can't be found on GOG (like Valor & Victory)
The thing is: do these stores provide DRM-Free installers for their games?
The page says :"Our Digital Download service sends you a download link to the master game file once your order is complete. You can use this link to download the game directly to your computer over the internet and start playing right away. The download is available to you for thirty days after your order. No shipping is involved and the game is immediately available for you once the order is complete." It sounds like a "not really" to me, but maybe someone can confirm it...

The game I have bought there, BBC Battle Academy (as well as its expansion pack) came with an activation code. I don't know about other games, but this sample of n=1 is DRM-ed.

The Matrix/Slitherine store, since the beginning, use codes to activate the games during/before installation and for updates.

But the GOG versions do not make use of them in my experience.

Also a different generated code use to be used to activate the game on Steam as a bonus. All of these codes should be available in your personal account/page in the Matrix store.

EDIT: if what you mean is if you can download the game installer itself for backup purposes, yes you can. But you will also need the code to activate it.

I don't know why they're including this form about download being available for thirty days, I have on my account games bought a couple of years ago and still can download them without any issues.

Installers by themselves require only the "cd-key" which is provided together with game. After installing, games are working "almost" like normal DRM-free games. With one exception - plenty of games with multiplayer functionality have it limited only to Slitherine's PBM service, which require to log in and having internet connection. It's not needed though for single player portion of the game.

There are some rare exceptions, like Gladius: Relics of War, which doesn't require Slitherine's service to play in multiplayer.

But if you're not interested in multiplayer (or game you're interested doesn't have it at all), then the only "issue" is entering cd-key during installation (which can be done offline, no "online validation").

The key is the "anniversary coupon" Not really sure what it means. A possibility is that it is just a discount coupon to be used when purchasing the game, not the game "cd key" "code" itself

It's just a regular 30% discount coupon, but it doesn't stack with other product discounts, so it's not too useful in this case.
