Not sure, could we talk about the same thing of popculture getting popculturer with time?

Anyway, I watched a recent interview with (Bulgarian) movie critics on the Gladiator 2 hitting box office and they suggested Gladiator(2000) started a popculture of its own, meaning paving the path for "swords and sandals" block buster movies (like "300", "Thor", ... you name it).

And "swords and sandals" we rather like to play, game wise ;-)
