dtgreene: Please, no rars. I hate it when I encounter a .rar file, as said files can't be decompressed using only free (FSF definition) software.

doady: 7zip
The versions of 7zip that can decompress .rar files are non-free (per FSF definition) because they include a .rar decompression source whose license forbids using the code to write a program to create .rar files.

Also, look at http://www.7-zip.org/license.txt for the 7zip license that mentions the unRAR restriction.

Given some abuse I have received on this form, I'm not so sure about that.

Pheace: Because ... clutter? It's not like Steam gets any money if you pay to the point where you get a Steam key,
avatar
dtgreene: It's just that I consider Steam keys to have negative value, as such keys encourage the use of DRM.

Hence, I consider the bundle to be more valuable without the Steam keys than with them.
I agree, I have quite a few Steam Keys either from a humble bundle or Square-Enix pulling their DRM free catalogue that I refuse to use.

For me Humble is a gateway to Steam. Yes VALVe don't get money directly, but they get continued influence.

JosephBatley: What would be the difference between buying a game DRM-free on Humble Bundle and buying that same game through GOG?
GOG tweaks its games to have compatibility with modern systems and have a praiseworthy support function, that you can count on both to save the day.

Steam support is a joke, something like an internet meme or something and not all titles there get extra tweaks for compatibility.

I think, on the whole, this is a far better community than Steam. Even with steams heavy moderation there is an awful number of unpleasant people there.

I'm glad this forum isn't heavily censored, though there are a few active users that could be better at rational debating rather than going into abuse.

Me, I'm a Master Debater and quite the cunning linguist.
