netkage: Deus Ex: Human Revolution should be on GOG. The original version of the game is no longer available on Steam, only the DC is now available (the Directors Cut weren't very well recieved by fans). This is a good opportunity to add the original version of the game to GOG. Most People prefer the original to the DC anyway.

paladin181: Really? The boss fights having multiple ways to solve them was well worth the DC by itself.
EDIT: I guess I'm happy enough to have both versions.
Why was this post rated poorly? A legitimate opinion, formulated politely without provocation.

The DC has its advantages. I like the integration of the Missing Link DLC. However, I miss the gold shimmer of the original. Anyway, a free choice would be nice.
Well, so far the DC hasn't been too bad to me. I've had one crash and one bug (enemy clipped into a box and couldn't do a takedown on him) but the performance is pretty much butter-smooth 60fps.

adamhm: I've sent a message to support to ask about/suggest it just in case. Would be great to have it here even if it's as a separate purchase.
any news of your ticket?
The original version must be here.

Nothing yet, and I don't expect any reply for a while (if at all). Hopefully GOG will see these posts/messages & try to get the original release here as well though.

Curation must give a damn. Or esle, no chance-y.

I bet my money its them who selected the version GOG brought, or something.

Voted! But don't keep your hopes up...

Curation ignored entries with 600+ votes and of titles, that their devs reached GOG for partnership like, THRICE! Throwing in our faces here, the "it's too niche" line.

And even if curation isn't involved... GOG beget amnesia. 5 years ago they promised to renegotiate the Fallout Classics extras to return and after the Alzheimer kicking in, they also lost their speech (or rather, touch for typing); nobody bothered to drop a single line regarding, like ever again!

Я писал множество раз в GOG, и в Square Enix, что выпустить в GOG надо Deus Ex Human Revolution и именно оригинальную версию игры. Я очень расстроен тем, что добавили Director Cut.
I've created my own "DRM-free" copy of the original release of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and The Missing Link using my Steam copy & the Goldberg emulator just in case it never becomes available on GOG. Here's a comparison of the sizes of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution Classic" compared to the Director's Cut. Despite looking and performing worse, the Director's Cut somehow requires considerably more disk space than the classic version...

It should be trivial for GOG to do their own release using their "Ghost API" translation layer with the regular Steam files (as appears to have been done with the Director's Cut and other recent formerly Steam-exclusive releases), so it should just a case of GOG asking for (and hopefully getting) permission from Square Enix to do it. It's probably worth us contacting Square Enix and asking them about it too.

Vote for the classic version to be made available here: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/deus_ex_human_revolution_original_version

Real shame only the DC version is available. The original (superior) version is gone from everywhere.

Original has less bugs. Missing Link is optional and separate. But the biggest draw is visuals - golden hue is how the game is meant to be.
One would think that owners of the Deus Ex: HR DC version on GOG...would just also have an option to download the Deus Ex: HR Original Version (Complete Edition with all DLC's).

Don't some other games do that where if you buy the Remaster on GOG, you also get the OLD Version - like say PS:T?

Yeah it's nowhere to be found except through downloading. Sad
Now that Embracer bought SQE, maybe there is a chance that GOG can strike a deal, if they want to.
