Hey guys! So, on November 25th, at 3 PM UTC, Sin Slayers: Reign of The 8th (no GOG page yet) will be released on our platform. Having said that, the publisher decided that with it, the "original" version will be no longer available to buy, which is:

Sin Slayers + all its DLCs + The First Sin (the game's demo).

The removal will happen on the same date as the release of Reign of The 8th. If someone would like to grab this original version (the new version will have some new enemies, but also changes to the game's flow, balance, and optimization) then please do so before the release happens.
...and again, no discount :-(

There hasn't been a discount since September '22. Before that, the discounts were numerous.
I wonder what happened? Why did the dev / pub stop actively marketing their product and just let it sit there in the store?

edit:
The game was actively marketed between its release in September '19 and its last discount in September '22. That's exactly 3 years. A wild guess: The publisher only did the absolute minimum of work as required by the publishing contract.

I don't know.
However, I only buy games that are either very cheap or come from developers/publishers who respect their customers here at GOG and also provide them with updates. Personally, I don't care if it takes 2 or 4 weeks longer, the main thing is that it comes.

In that case, I'll pass, even if I really would have liked to buy the game. I certainly won't buy the sequel. :-|
It looks quite nice (and native Linux support is always pleasing), but there is no way I would reward a delisting by buying a copy of the removed game.

The game was removed from Steam in 2021, thanks to some issue with the publisher. The new version will be self-published. And, according to their FAQ on Steam, the GOG version should also be updated:
I bought the game on GOG. Will this version be upgraded?
Yes, the GOG version will be updated on the same day as the Steam release.

yea you would think they give a farewell sale or something.

Or at least let the developers earn money off the product one last time before the delisting

They delisted it to list their new version of the game that they're self publishing. The developers didn't want people buying the old version because the old publisher gets a cut. Thay'd rather you buy the new one in this case.
For future reference, the original game got replaced by this newer version:

Are the artbooks and music track new? I have the old game book & music so I have to ask.

Keighn: Are the artbooks and music track new? I have the old game book & music so I have to ask.
From the store page for the new soundtrack:

"The Sin Slayers Soundtrack features remastered tracks from the original game, offering a refreshed take on the atmospheric music that sets the tone for every moment in the Valley of Fallen Sinners. Immerse yourself in the haunting melodies and dynamic compositions that served as the background to your adventures."

Not sure if the artbook is different, but it should be since there are new enemies in the Reign of The 8th version.
Alright! I love to hear music in a new light and if there is new art then that's pretty sweet. Thanks.
