Commandos Returns! Kalypso secures all iconic Pyro Studios franchises
The Kalypso Media Group is thrilled to announce that it has secured all rights to the highly-acclaimed fan-favourite gaming IP, Commandos. With this latest acquisition, the entire Commandos brand is completely owned by Kalypso Media, which not only covers future releases but also all distribution rights to the entire series thus far, including Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, Commandos 2: Men of Courage, Commandos 3: Destination Berlin and Commandos: Strike Force, as well as Pyro Studios’ other titles, such as Imperial Glory and Praetorians.
Lets hope they keep them on gog.

I think we're safe and sound with Kalypso on the board.
Should let Mimimi Productions of Shadow Tactics: BotS fame have a shot at another installment in the series. Can't think of any other studio that could pull it off, also in regards to proper console ports (sadly a necessity these days).

Even the creator of the original Commandos has nothing but praise for ST:BotS and even considers it superior in a lot of ways:

I'd honestly feel safer and sounder if they brought all the missing Linux versions here... :\
Let's hope it is a proper Commandos, not like the last FPS one!

Or #3, which wasn't the worst game in the world, but a definite step backward for the series.

That game was so awesome, definitely in my hall of fame. I also liked how they did strong female characters with actual character without making them the usual hollywood tropes.
I wonder if it's good news or bad news.
Happy to see that Commandos has a future but i'm going to admit i have mixed feelings of Kalypso as a publisher because most of their titles ( yes there are exception) are garbage and i haven't exactly been impressed by the majority of studios they publish for.

If Kalpyso for some reason manage to get Shadow Tactics devs on board then hell yes i look forward to it otherwise i'm just catious until release.

I hope Kalypso Media now starts pulling down the "banned" status of "Commandos: Behind enemy lines" in germany.

The ban is quite outdated today, the once problematic showing of swastikas should be no problem today, as games are seen more as art and old bannings are beeing torn down here in the last months...

I really don't think it's up to them.
It is. The rightsholder (now Kalypso) can go to court about the game (like Capcom does for the "Dead Rising" series), but they would have to put effort and money in it. If you can afford that almost anything goes.

But are there any videogame examples specifically pertaining to the depiction of swastikas?
not happy about this :X kalypso is responsible for destroying many classic games i was looking forward for a sequel with their ruin "remaster " gimmick , all they do is release a supposed sequel or remaster with such bare bones content and horrible graphics ...dlc greed ...sigh their lack of support is shocking .

dungeons , airline tycoon 2, Disciples...
