If you’re a fan of good old classics - we got some amazing news for you. Straight from SNEG, Silver Box Classics are coming soon to GOG! Excited? Just wait until you hear what’s inside that silver box…

Silver Box Classics is a collection that’ll bring back some great memories. It gathers adaptations of the events in the first four Dragonlance role-playing modules, at the beginning of the War of the Lance – these were the first games that brought the world of D&D to PC gaming.

Silver Box Classics contains: Shadow Sorcerer, War of the Lance, Heroes of the Lance and Dragons of Flame.

Soon on GOG!
Oh, they are comming?
I loved most of the old SSI D&D games...but these were the worst of them (maybe Hillsfar was on par with them).
So, I'll wait till some good games...Buck Rogers would be an instant buy
A lot of these games seems to involve dragon killing, and look really old. Any chance we'll see Thanatos, a dragon theme game from 1986, where the roles are reversed in the near future here on GOG?

There's is a wishlist here:
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/thanatos

although it doesn't seems to have much votes.

Oh wait it is not the silver box I meant.
I have the one with the Dragon lance Chonicles and Treasures of the savage frontier and such.
I didn't know there was a different one...

YES! Some good news.

Wow, hadn't thought of these in a million years. Looking forward to release.

Wishlisted

(But GOG... again... please fix the wishlists)
Dragonlance is always welcome. Was talking with my buddy about some of these games like a month ago. Dragonstrike was pretty cool on amiga too.

I still have my silver box of Heroes of the Lance ZX Spectrum version and I can say that it is probabbly the worst of all of them. The second one Dragons of Flame is very similar and a direct sequel, but maybe longer and more polished but with the same control design problems the prequel suffered.
War of the Lance is probably the very best of the pack. Very good game pretty similar to Sword of Aragon. Never tried Shadow sorcerer but what I know about it is that the concept is very interesting and novel. Some kind of exploration, survival action rpg in real time with three diferent modes of playing. It is said it was rushed at the end though.

I am in the mood of these games, indeed
So these games will be released during the Spring Sale .
I mean they weren't great games, but good to see them here nonetheless.
I'll buy those but I also want Dragon Strike, please.

It will come later. Dunno which version though, likely ms-dos.
I'd suggest renaming it the brown box, that'll be more accurate with the quality of the games present

Shadow Sorcerer was done by U.S. Gold.
A little bit from an review of the game: sloppily programmed, no tactical, if you let the computer play the other heroes they are running around like chicken or stand around; Inventory is a certain way to get killed in an real time game.

Anyway the MS-DOS version was a high 43% (not that the Amiga version was any better).
I love old school D&D!
Oh my, I remember Spoony reviewing the Dragonlance games. Good times...
