Hello,

thinking about switching from Steam to GOG. I had Gothic Remake pre-ordered on Steam, but cancelled it due to the latest news about purchasing the license instead of the game.

Can we expect pre-orders with a certain discount on GOG as well, as is possible on Steam? I think its a good way to attract more people to GOG, if you could offer it for upcoming games.

Maybe some of the resident number crunchers that keep track of those kind of things could chime in and correct me if I'm wrong, but most if not all of the major THQ Nordic-published titles released on GoG had been available for pre-order prior to launch, with discounts to boot.
Shouldn't be any different for the Gothic Remake.

It's available for pre-purchase already on other platforms. So you are right. :) I bought it for 43,99€. Just cancelled the order due to latest news about Steam. Hope GOG manages to offer it as well. The hype is big and the Gothic community would really appreciate it.

Edit: I censored the attached screenshot, since I didnt want to advertise for any company. There are plenty that offer pre-order Steam Keys.

a game https://eu.store.thqnordic.com/en/Our-Games/Gothic/
it says 31st December 2024, rated PG16, box with extras €199.99
or
$199.99 here https://us.store.thqnordic.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/gothic-remake-collectors-edition
also with extras and "Not yet assigned a final ESRB rating but anticipated to be rated Mature 17+."

The physical version of this particular game giggles me the most, yet waiting for the local gog's version.

Agree. They know how to hype the community very well. ^^ I mean a "Gothic Cookbook" wth :D While waiting i've finished the most Gothic 1 and 2 Mods, finished Drova - Forsaken Kin, which basically has the same atmosphere as Gothic 2.. and it stiill feels like an eternity to wait for this.

I'm just happy that THQ knows how to "remake" a game. I tried not to spoil myself too much with uploaded videos. But they seem to do it VERY well so far.

New gameplay snippets

Most interesting takeaway: At one point earlier in development there had been considerations to turn the Ork outpost/village into a fourth fully fledged faction hub, complete with corresponding quests to alternatively join the Orks instead.

Was eventually abandoned because it would have required quite the immersion-breaking and tonally questionable contrivances to make it work, and ultimately would have been too great of a departure from the original Gothic.

The settlement however has been considerably expanded compared to the original location into "Ork Town", now providing deeper insights into the Ork culture and more ways to interact than just strapping the Ulu-Mulu to your back and be allowed to enter.

### Only for German speakers! Sorry for an @everyone ping!

This poll is primarily aimed at the German-speaking audience. Please, let German speakers decide, how the game will sound in their native language.

I wonder how much Eurojank they got rid of. I wonder how much Eurojank it kept?

As for the post above?
TL;DR: They've begun German dubbing.

pssst, it is a Spanish company doing it, 100% well-preserved EuroYankee Doodle.

...and put it up to the players to chose between 3 options for the voice of Diego (whose original voice actor is too old by now and doesn't sound like he used to back then).
Which is something you don't see that often or at all even...
I think I will just play the original then.
If your enjoyment of the Remake hinges on dragging septuagenarian and in this case octogenarian German voice actors out of their well deserved retirement, you plainly have no other choice.
