I was just going through my old discs dump and came across one which had demos from year 2000 , noticed this game in the list and was reminded how i only played the demo and never came across the full game.
Game Name : Codename eagle
Developer : Refraction Games aka EA DICE now
Publisher : Take-Two Interactive
Gog wishlist : https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/codename_eagle
Mission 1 : video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHwXoeD796U
Demo : fansite : http://codenameeagle.net/demo/
My own experience of the game back in the time , there was a craze of world war related games from the outside this game would look as a world war 1 based fps but as i played through the demo back in the day , i was stunned at how many different mechanics in the game that stood out.
Many of the game's features would show up in battlefield series of today but it was amazing back in the day to see that game had huge maps , stealth elements , usable vehicles, planes , multiple paths ....probably this combining of so many things is what lead to its low sales of only 20,000 copies. A real diamond in the rough.
From what i can gather , the game multiplayer was extremely popular and has a sold fan support even today.
Given that its stuck btween EA and Take Two this might be one game that is truly lost....
Anyone else played this gem ?
