I own the DVD version of Civilization IV Complete Edition and wondered if anyone could tell me definitively if it is DRM free or not.

I would buy it here on gog if it is not DRM free, but I need to know so as not to buy the same game twice if the CD version is DRM free.

Thank you in advance for your help.

My copy of Civ IV on disc uses copy protection. In fact you should take a look at http://www.geek.com/games/microsoft-kills-safedisc-drm-on-windows-7-and-8-1634869/. This is why my version on disc no longer works.

I don't have the DVD version but it probably has the same one as mine.

Faithful:
One of my friend brought Civilization IV: The Complete Edition online and it was DRM-free.

AFAIK only TCE was DRM-free rest of version had DRM.

Install the game and see if it need disk to play.

Also it seems recent patch remove it's DRM.

I have Civ 4 Complete Edition and it has no DRM. It doesn't have a CD key or require the CD to be in the drive to play.
Thank you guys for your help.
