JasonWade1973: I have only fairly recently reacquired internet access for my tower computer (Windows Vista 32 bit) and found most pages do not display or not but a few elements. This is all due to the outdated Firefox browser (which I cannot update as it won't load all of the download page) and the new push by browser makers to enforce newer encryption ciphers while ending acceptance of older ones. So the only way for me to receive any game I want to buy is if it's available as a zip file in it's entirety or there is an executable installer I can download on this tablet to transfer there and run it (it is connected, it just can't perform the whole process itself because of the browser issue).

I'm working on fixing the browser matter, but for it, unlike the current sale of Heroes of Might & Magic III, there is all the time it takes. I've missed a previous sale of it because I still have to resolve that. Unless like my still running copy of Heroes II, it is available on disk, I will need another way. But I assume all games are download purchases, which brings me to the wall between spending money on it and being sure I'd get it.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

32bit ?!?!?!?!!?!? is your hardware incapable of 64bit? Time to save up for some new hardware in that case.

You could install something like Linux Mint alongside Vista and use that for internet. Setting up a dual boot is a bit tricky but using Firefox in Linux is just like using it in Windows.

nightcraw1er.488: The real underlying problem here is you are using windows vista, it’s hardly surprising that nothing works, it is the worse os you can use. I would say, save yourself some trouble and just clean install win 7 (at least) and start from fresh.
As for your browser install, just uninstall Firefox, then open internet explorer and download the latest installer from the Firefox website and install that.
I would suggest to do some tidy up, it’s possible that things get stuck in windows, especially with the whole have everything installed never shut down mentality, which can mean lots of things can break. Clean out all unused apps/games, delete temp folders and unused folders in %appdata%, run a reg cleaner. Defrag hdd. Etc. Then shutdown and restart.

Themken: Well, another solution is to have some other computer for internet. That one does not need to be fast as I use my 2006 laptop and it works. If it were easy to setup a local network with Vista I would then suggest that and pull files from the internet pc.

Darvond: As Themken says, I have deep concern towards you continuing to use an outdated OS.

My proposal is a bit different: Save your nickles and buy an off lease computer.

GameRager: Most of this is actually very good advice...even the win 7 advice is decent but perhaps a bit of overkill considering OP's likely level of skill with such.
==================================GameRager: Sounds good, but again one doesn't need to do any of that. I had outdated OSs for years and almost no problems when using a firewall and proper anti-virus.

(The problems I did have were rare, and light stuff that didn't affect the system much at all, and usually due to good sites being hijacked or sites allowing said code to leak into their sites)

Or are you suggesting the OS be dropped because it just sucks(which is somewhat valid)?

I DO also like the idea of buying a cheap pc for internet....sounds good for just that purpose.

Darvond: Not so much perpetuation of a misconception but also adding in the beeping horn of, "You might be missing some of the benefits that stereo can provide!" To explain, there's obvious advantages an upgrade would have.

Fonzer: Well i am still using windows xp and firefox esr 52.9.0 and gog works fine. Sure some sites don't work like nicovideo and sometimes youtube spits out a html5 error or something. But that doesn't happen to often on youtube and i can still download a video from youtube if i can't see it.

Yes pc is too old i am waiting a little until a buy a new one.
And never tried linux before kinda not used to it so didn't try yet.

GameRager: 1st bit: Yes XP and 7 were/are some pretty decent OSs, without as much of the mandatory updating/telemetry bs we get with Win10(which I have to use sadly, as it comes with this PC and i'm not allowed to change it while under contract).

2nd bit: I've been there...I had a PC I used for 7-8 years once.

And as for linux: Unless MS went all out on their bs I wouldn't drop it....it's much too easy and known to me to change atm.
