I am trying to check out Baldurs Gate 3 via credit/debit. Upon selecting the payment method, it just spins, and does not allow me to progress to the next screen. Any idea what's happening?

You may try another browser. And also if you have an adblocker or Noscript try disabling them.

Or it could just be their payment servers are loaded, try again later.

Using a different browser, and an attempt to purchase 18 hours later had no effect.

I have disabled anti virus software, disabled any extensions I had running, etc. to zero effect.

I am using the most recent version of Opera, and used Firefox as a second option.

I have never purchased through Firefox, but have made dozens of purchases using Opera.

I don't know if it matters or not, but I tried purchasing something else just to see if that made any difference and achieved the same result.

Try from a different device, like a phone for example. If it lets you pick the payment method, at least you'll know it's something on your PC and not account.

Cleared cache, cookies, history, etc and am still stuck. Alright, so I tried that on my phone and was able to get to the payment screen. Clearly there must be something wrong on the PC end. I purchased the game and was able to start the download, but would still like to know what was going on that I couldn't purchase via my laptop.

Hard to tell. Try checking the browser console on the payment method picking page (CTRL+SHIFT+I in Opera) and see if there are any errors.

I had an issue with Google captchas on my PC for several months because Google flagged my IP for suspicious activity when I was playing around with Opera's built-in VPN. Since then, captchas completely refused to load on my PC except when using Edge for some reason. Lasted almost half a year.

Does your credit/ debit card require a confirmation for online transactions, i.e. PIN / password / SMS code / app verification whatever?
