mechmouse: Great, 2 months of misinformation and bickering. As much as I'd like to think labour would rise about pedalling fear and half truths, I think this is going to be just as bad as the run up to Brexit (at least it will be quicker)

Lets just hope all those that couldn't bothered to vote during the referendum will vote this time.

thraxman: Nothing will make any real difference. May will win because there is no real opersition, we can only hope for a super embarrassing leak that destroys Boris's career for good.
Unfortunately I agree. While I think Corbyn is the kind of person that should be running this country, Labour is still fractured and recovering from its time as Blair's "conservative lite".

May's timing on this should work to her advantage.... unless the liberal left can unite.

There's a reason she's a politician, but I can't help but think this whole thing is just to stop people saying,
"No one voted for you, you became PM by default as nobody credible was left"

That irks me. People did vote for her, she was an MP.

People vote for their MP and their seat in parlament, not the leader of the party and be extension the PM. This isn't America.

People that say such things need to be sent away for "re-education", at least have their right to Tea and warm beer taken away.

She was not voted to be leader though, they all dropped out along the contest until she was the only one left. So the be an MP, yes she was elected, but to be leader (and in that situation PM) she was not, it was by default. She should have called the election back then if she wanted to cement and guarantee her position and no one would be arguing with her now if she had won it.

Corbyn in charge of the country. Mr Pacifist who can't even keep his party together? Why don't we just bring back Tony Blair, his war crimes and his precious open border policy. Let's disarm the navy and disband the military in general. Leave our country completely unprotected. What is happening in Europe will happen to us soon and with that ageing hippy in charge, we'd get royally fucked and thrown off of our own island. Which if you have been to London recently, is already going down nicely.

Voting to keep that brexit going. Sort out the other problems when we're done. Though by the time that happens our multi cultured, gay hating, feminist obsessed Islamic state of an island will have sunk due to Turkey's new arrivals. I'm racist i hear you say. I most certainly am not. I'm just completely intolerant and utterly sick of all these benefit scroungers taking everything and giving nothing.

Bring back the days when there were shop signs I could actually read, when the schools didn't have to constantly hire new teachers because 3/4 of the attendees can't speak our language, we had community centres that had things for people of all ages to do that were not turned into mosques and back when I could say hi to a neighbour and get a reply in English and not get stabbed. Oh, the good old days.
Can we let the myth about warm beer go please? I've been of drinking age for 20 plus years and have always been served cold beers in this country, whether lager or ale.

Thats a long story ..............

i read the important parts about the mc (multiculti) and the famous , often misused and abused R word.

Seems you only want to have the old days and old good times back, tehre is nothing wrong with that, i want the same and many many dutch aswell, but there is no way back...................

As for the R word: its misused and heavily abused, when people can't win arguments they go for the R word, this word will soon loose its power because of abuse/overuse and whatever more, soon the word will be like rain and shine and sun and, money and dog and many more common words , it will loose its power and meaning all because of the over (ab)use of the R word.

Back to govts: we all know EU has so many weaklings, maybe 2 or 3 countries have the guts to standup/ tell it like it is ( Hungary perhaps)

The issue is that if UK (with or without the other 2 parts that are pro EU) is out of the EU, people might be scared that UK actually will make it and be great again, cause that might trigger a domino effect, EU (Brussels) doesn't want that.

I don't know much about economics (very little in fact) but i think UK can make it and after a period of time they will be the old UK that we know. And maybe there are other/better options for UK to form a new and better version of EU?
Uk could surely find/join other 'projects' like EU but without all the nasty side effects .

Anyway we all know that if UK should succeed and become great again, more might follow and heaven forbid if 3 or 4 others might join ( Germany, France, The Netherlands and Belgium) what would happen then?

Which member will become the next piggybank ? but that will never happen cause EU will never allow that.
EU and Europe are different: Europe is great and marvellous, EU is just some for of pact / club or whatever they call it, the old EEC was better and had less problems.

EU = mainly political, and trading has been set aside compared to the old EEC which was mainly about trading, and politics was a very small part.
