Actually EA had the very bad idea to let studios simply let them do what they want, while throwing money at them.
That is what killed Origin.
They had to much money in a blink of a second, hired to much staff and wanted to do to many things aimed at a rather small target group.

And talking about Bioware.
Afaik Bioware wanted to do Anthem.
And EA threw money on Dragon Age Veilguard for nearly a decade.
And what it was, is fully biowares idea. While I got problems to even see the target group. Young people don't know Dragon Age, because number 3 was 2011 for a different console generation.
Old people now a very different Dragon Age.

And between Inquisition and Veilguard, there are Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem.
I don't know anyone who had even the smallest hope for Bioware after those 2.

EA would have loved to see Bioware being another Blizzard (or at last Bungie) and left them alone with tons of money.
Bioware used it to finance its suicide.

Yigdboz: In the meantime the dude who's larping as a woman and also was the game director on Veilguard has been failing upwards and will be serving (again) as the game director for another RPG from a D&D/Wizards of the Coast-associated development studio called Skeleton Key.
Skeleton Key as studio name sounding totally bad ass.

I haven't seen BioWare as "that" BioWare ever since the founders retired. Though I could go even further back and say that there are four "stages" of BioWare.
First is up to KotOR, where they are an important part of the reason why the late 90s and early 00s tend to still be called the golden age of PC RPGs. Then the late 00s, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, trying new things. Then early 10s, pushing to gain the most from those new IPs, the same way any AAA studio does, with little risk and drop in quality to churn out games quickly. And then the recent "era", where it's largely a studio that happens to have that name, but little other connection to what it was in the day we tend to fondly remember.

Exactly. This has been the (unfortunately successful) business model of EA for decades now.
Bioware and DICE can’t escape the EA curse forever
Stuff they're doing fails to perform - foreseeable consequences. They claimed a goal of 3 million sales (on which I call BS after Inquisition sold over 10 million) and they barely got half of that (more like a third, realistically).

Nothing noteworthy really. The director of Veilguard bailed shorty before this, so everybody clearly knew something like this was coming (leaving "voluntarily" looks better on a CV than "fired"). Also, the immediate announcement that there will be no extra content for the game, ever, was quite telling. This is the company which became the pioneer of DLCs.

Bioware is now in the same position as Ubisoft. The killshot is loaded, all that remains to decide is whether the trigger will be pulled. And that decision will be made by the next Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed for these two companies.

Ubisoft is a big company though, i wouldn't be surprised if they had a little surprise up their sleeve

It would be a shame to see them go though again, the path of life is filled with mass graves and the occasional flower bed

It always amazes me how corporate executives seem to often be happy to buy a company and then watch as most of the talent just walks out the door.

If you combine all the colors together, it is no longer a rainbow. You are also confusing color with saturation and intensity.

Colors are determined by the wavelength of light that reaches the eye. For example, light with a wavelength between 570 and 590 nm is what we perceive as yellow. Even if the intensity and saturation cause it to appear gray rather than yellow to your mind, the wavelength still corresponds to what we define as the color yellow.

Apparently, according to EA - the reason Veilguard failed was because:

It wasn't a live service game.
*sigh* figures EA would learn the absolute wrong thing.
