Hi,

I realized again that GOG has problems with keeping games up to date.

For example the Mac and the Windows versions of Caves of Qud is not up to date although the update was released three days ago and the Linux version is unbelievably two versions behind beacause they forgot to update it when they updated the Windows and Mac versions last time.

I own the game here and bought it again on itch.io because of that reason. There are all versions (Windows, Mac, Linux) always up to date on day one, when the update is released. So I can compare it.

The problem not ony persists with the game Caves of Qud. Also other games have the problem that they get an updates late or two out of there versions get updated then an update is skipped and such annoying things.

This really makes me sad.

P.S.: By the way, the latest version on Caves of Qud is 2.0.157.0.
When situations like this arise, it's best to nudge the developer (gently) on your local social media; asking if they've submitted a patch or files to GOG. If they say yes, then you sit and wait. A lot of games with frequent updates tend to skip to stable versions, like Factorio or have some processing time.
That happened to me with a game I bought called Underhero.
Basically it had a strange bug that turned you level one with no upgrades or potions at the final boss. It got patched very quickly but my version just wouldn't update.
Took me a while but It turns out I just had to turn off my antivirus, or else Itch.io wouldn't update.
Try doing that and see if it solves the problem.
I've read somewhere that itch.io got the best tools in the business for developers to upload their stuff. And in gog, they have to do some test first especially for the offline installer. So maybe that's a factor.

But yeah, the first thing to do is to actually ask the developers themselves.
Also gently remind gog via support ticket about it too, sometimes they get the update and it just gets log jammed.
its happened a few times.
basically gently remind everyone.
The patches don't pass curation: too niche.

But yeah, it falls on both parties. Sometimes the developer is slow to release, or never does. Sometimes gOg needs some time for testing and to make the patch installer, and sometimes drops the ball. The polite nudging mentioned by others is the way to go.
