GameRager: Actually, DLC is a new umbrella term for more than expansions.....it includes things like expansions, cosmetic changes/additions, etc.
It's a dumb term either way now that games are downloadable in general, but it's so entrenched in marketing I don't see it changing. In any case I think his point was more that DLCs can be good things, when done well. It's not the concept that is bad, just some uses of it.
I don't play online/free games, so I've honestly rarely encountered DLCs I had a moral problem with. I know Ubisoft has some weird stuff in their games but I've never opened those menus and never had an issue.
