Just wondering is GOG is ever going to add ascendancy to their game lists or at least if they are looking into it

You should add it to the community wish list.
You misspelled the game's name -- the community wishlist entry is here:

Sorry but we here in the forums are just your fellow customers and none of us can help you have a game added. Like most other support forums, staff is rarely here and they're usually drunk anyway.

If you want to contact staff directly, you need to do that over here:

Hope this helps
The only way I'm able to tell the progress as far as I know is checking the wishlist. Once it's in progress then you know at least they're trying to but that "in progress" thing could take years depending on how tied up that game is.
Logic Factory (creators and owners of Ascendancy) ported the game to iOS in 2010. Depending on how it did there they were planning to port t back to PC with improvements later on. I assume they didn't want to release the old version for sale for that reason. They were going to start working on Ascendancy II in 2012.

Unfortunately Apple pulled the game in 2011. Logic Factory vanished from existence and no one has heard anything from them since. Unless someone can convine Logic Factory to sell the old game again, it won't appear on GoG.
Loved loved loved this game. From the relaxing music to the hilarious aliens and the super easy, intuitive and FUN ship building it was easily my favorite 4X game.

Still bummed I loaned it out then forgot to get it back all those years ago... I'd be spinning that disc to this day.
That reminds me, I've got the boxed version. Never played it, I think I'll see how it gets along on modern Windows. Right now.

Ah wait, it's older than I thought, a DOS game. Don't feel like setting up DOSBOX right now. The box says I can win a trip for 2 to Bali though, I wonder if I can still enter.

Thank god he wasn't asking about Haegemonia; I think that has two different spellings.

Whenever I read that name I think Hegemony and whenever I think of that word, I think homogeneity. Then, I have trouble sleeping.

I would have trouble sleeping if I slept. :P

Seems like it's abandonware but maybe someone from Logic Factory or maybe even EA as Virgin Interactive was sold to EA.

You could try following the Credits "trail" and try to contact folks to see who owns the rights.
