I saw a comment in another thread about games in Australia being different. May I know are the games that Australians download from GOG the same as in other countries?

I'm not Australian, but as far as I've ever heard, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was the only GOG game that had only a censored version available there. Not sure if that's still the case.

EDIT: That being said, there's a small number of games that only have a censored version available here for everyone, regardless of region. But I assume you meant censored versions served only to customers in specific regions.

Hotline Miami 2 and Saints Row 4 are also not available to Aussies at all on GOG due to censorship
As far as I know GOG doesn't sell censored versions, they region-block you instead. So those games that are on the index in Germany or not legal in Australia or somewhere else, will just not be available at all, if you try to buy them using a German/Australian IP address.

But if you buy them while you are somewhere else (real or virtually), for example while travelling (or something), you will keep those games in your account, even if moving back to Australia / Germany.

If you purchase games from Australia or Germany, then most likely, you will get a inferior censored version, courtesy of the retarded control freaks who have high positions there.

Nope. As I said, you will get no game at all instead.

AFAIK they are. GOG doesn't sell different versions of games for different countries. If one is the censored version, it's censored for everyone. (And there's probably a patch to uncensor, like Huniepop.)

The Witcher 2 was censored... in that after completing a certain quest the player was not given a choice of options in a certain encounter... it defaulted to one of them.

In the original version your character Geralt was given the choice of accepting sex ‘as a reward’ for successfully completing this particular side quest. The Australian Classification Board originally refused classification as they deemed the inclusion of ‘sex as a reward’ as not suitable for an MA15+ classification.

The change is only minor, in that the character choice is now made automatically for him. The character and the side quest are still in the game but presented in a slightly different context. No other changes have been made and this change has no impact on gameplay, storyline or character development.

HuniePop is censored wherever you live and wherever you buy it, but the patch takes about 10 seconds to apply.

You naughty boy. ;)

A quick google like this plus the name of the game should direct you to how to fix the problem:

Hope this helps

Yes, they are. There is a list of games that are censored, on gog.

Fallout 1/2
Giants Citizen Kabuto
Bloodrayne
Gobliiins
Huniepop
GRIS

And others. It's not about locale, we 've been had. GOG doesn't accept uncensored games and especially lately, with "curation", uncensored games don't even make it to the store.

Also you can't have sex with the succubus in the Australian version.
But the two files they removed to censor the game are readily available.
And don't forget Doom 3 BFG Edition.

Probably, the "offer uncensored games to gog fans whenever possible" policy, has also been dropped the ball.
