Whats really confusing about this update, for me anyways, is I've spent 4 days trying to troubleshoot why i still have 1.1.30 beta installed and whenever i download it again and install it, it's the same version. Just small efforts in passing when i got 5 min here and there. Okay, so now it's my day off and I try to really drill the problem. Apparently this is only the ANNOUNCEMENT of the update on it's way.
That's stupid. Just release the change notes with the update itself. It's not communicated very well on the official website that this is just an announcement of a coming update. There is no date attached to it. On the actual Galaxy client page, the only suggestion that it isn't released yet is the headline "WHAT'S COMING IN UPDATE 1.2" which could mean it's out or it's not out yet.
They're trying to market it the same way Apple markets iOS it seems to me. Building hype for the new version of software before it's even released. That's stupid though. iOS is an OS. Galaxy is digital download client. They should've just advertised this all when the program was released. Right now, their page is plastered in all these promises that imply 1.2 is the current version and there is no release date for it. Just a list of features that are expected to be in it. It's not even a separate page detailing features of 1.2. It's right there on the official main Galaxy client page.
I'm pretty annoyed by this senseless marketing. Poor communication on part of GoG got me very excited, and then very disappointed. This will forever taint the excitement I had for 1.2.
