Hey guys, I need you to recommend some anime's to me, here's what I'm into. I haven't watched a lot, but the ones I have watched, I really liked. I just finished watching Death Note today, it was great, but boring at times, it was also something different from what I like, here's my favorite... I have watched both Fullmetal Alchemist, and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and those are my two favorite anythings ever, works of art, anyways, in those anime, there was a great story, very emotional, great characters, and great everything. Death Note was more... I don't know, it was almost completely different in a lot of ways (timeline, characters, and all that). Anyways, if you could make any sense form this post, give me some recommendations, and I sahll check them out. Thanks!

Neon Genesis Evangelion and Blood+ if you want story.

If you want just light hearted action pack anime, the classic Dragon Ball Z and One Piece.
Ahhhh, i read the thread title and was about to recommend Death Note, but then i read your post.

Did you really thing that Death Note was boring at times? It was the only anime that managed to keep me on the edge of my seat in every episode. The only thing i didn't like about it was the ending.

Maybe you should try One Piece. It's pretty good.
Cowboy Bebop

oh and I guess you could watch Trigun and Hellsing too

On a few episodes I found myself bored, and the ending was... abrupt. I have seen a lot about Cowboy Bebop, is it good?

WATCH THE MOVIE!
Nobody has recommended Pet Shop of Horrors, so I will. Case Closed is totally different from the shows you mentioned, because it's mostly standalone stories, without a strong central narrative, but I will tentatively recommend it; some misses, but overall the mystery-love in me is satisfied. I guess I'll second Hellsing as well. If you'd be interested in movies, then Perfect Blue is good, and you won't go wrong with Studio Ghibli.

I don't exactly recommend Yu Yu Hakusho, but with a few people recommending DBZ, I'll give it a pseudo-recommendation: if you want to watch an anime about people screaming while shooting balls of light at each other, Yu Yu Hakusho is a better entry in that particular genre. Death Note and FMA don't really make me think of shows like that, though.
I've got another vote for OnePiece. I've been watching it on and off for, what, the last 10 years?

Of the top 3 long-running modern animes (OnePiece, Naruto, Bleach), I'd definitely choose it over the other two hands-down. It handles the mix of pirate, adventure, fantasy, and superpower genres very creatively, the art style is unique, comic elements are varied, characters are rock solid (like diamond solid), fight sequences don't get repetitive, and the color shading is absolutely beautiful in HD.

An older-school recommendation is Slam Dunk. Best high school basketball anime to date. Slam Dunk and the Dragonball/Dragonball Z series were the two undisputed kings of manga/anime in East Asia while they were in production, AFAIK, and had immense social impact back then. EVERY single schoolboy/teen/early-20s-guy waited for new episodes, imitated (or at least wanted to imitate) Slam Dunk character personalities, playing styles, aggression, comic lines...
Everyone should watch Cowboy Bebop, even people who don't like anime.
From what you've said you liked try these in order i think you'll like them:

GunGrave
Gun X Sword
Gurren Lagann
Heat Guy J
Hellsing
Trigun
Angelic Layer Goddess Pilot Candidate

the old standbys:
Naruto (original is fun but Shippuden is better)
DragonBall with Z being the better one
Ghost in the Shell (anything there all great)

If your really REALLY getting into anime then i suggest getting an account with hulu netflix or the best of them all Crunchy Roll which is seriously all the best anime there is right now and there is 24/h turn around from broadcast in japan to your tv/ps3/handheld/computer and its legal so ^_^
