LynXsh: Dear GOGlodytes.
I'm back with some new stupid questions. I decided to watch the whole Bubblegum Crisis series, so I lurked a little and got confused with that reboot stuff and so on.
So, would somebody tell me,
- Should I stick to the "classic" series or jump right into the "renewed" ones? Or, are they different, so I should watch them both? (I prefer staying spoiler-free, so didn't read the plot summaries.)
- Is there "correct" watching order? (I mean, should I watch them chronologically by release date, or by inner chronology, or it doesn't matter?)
- Am I right thinking that A.D. Police: To Protect and Serve and Parasite Dolls are from the "rebooted" version?
Thanks in advance!
IMO you should watch the old Bubblegum Crisis OVA first, it's awesome and still one of my favorite anime since 20+ years. After that watch the sequel Bubblegum Crash!.
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 is an alternative version with the same characters but a different story. It's decent but not as good as the old OVA.
The A.D. Police is an important part of Bubblegum Crisis, the OVA and the series are spin-offs with their own stories. The old OVA is great but the TV series is just mediocre.
It's probably best to watch Parasite Dolls last, it could be a bit confusing without background knowledge about Boomers and the A.D. Police.
