I know how you feel.

Achievements are fun but can be BS as well, notably collection quests that force you to do annoying tasks of collecting things. Still better than multiplayer but not by much.

I think its good to take time off from achievements and to only bother going 100% for games you truly enjoy. Unless you are getting paid for it, achievements are really only supposed to be additional spice to a game (and proof you actually beat a game).
For me. its only about world of warcraft. in single player games i dont really care about achivements. Maybe because its not full on GOG.
I feel you.
Back when they were a novelty (on XBOX 360, the root of it all) I was pretty addicted to them myself.
Thankfully I don't have a neurodivergence making me more vulnerable to the desire of completing them; back then, when I didn't have a gaming PC and console games cost A LOT, making me buy 4 a year tops, I felt like I wasn't squeezing up all the content and I was ending up "wasting" some of my hard earned money... too bad that thought also ended up killing any enoyment I could find and made playing games a forced chore.

Thankfully I was able to fight it back after reflecting on it and now it affects me only marginally -I'm still a sucker for a good challenge, and if the achievement proves to be one I tend to hunt it. This time though, for fun!

Imo, the really big deal about them is that they're in the open, making you feel compelled to get them to either show them off or not to show you're lacking something. Devious and dangeros when you see it that way.
I also entirely agree on the "free data mining" part some users were talking about, some achievements are great indicators of the public's preferences.
Personally I like to experience different games so I've not been really hunting for achievements. Sometimes I find it fun though, but I might look some websites that give tasks to complete certain achievements.
The reset button for achievements for each game would solve a lot. I wish you successful rituals : )
