The game in question, Phantom Fury, was released on April 23, 2024, but it's still listed here as "soon/TBA." Any clue on when it's coming over to GOG, and why the hell is it taking so long?

I was looking foward to that one too, Unfortunately according to the steam forums the developers lost interest in selling on GOG (see developer post): https://steamcommunity.com/app/1733240/discussions/0/4364626769117713742/
high rated
I will say it appears there's stuff going on behind the scenes and there's a not insignificant chance it's still coming here, but no one can say when exactly.

I imagine the only reason it would show up is because of poor sales and bad reviews on Steam (as seems to be the case). Which is a reason I dislike of course, but I guess better to make it available here for people who want it than the original plan of it not showing up at all.

Interesting.

Given Ion Fury and even Bombshell's reasonably high positions on the all-time bestsellers list (page 17 and page 32, out of 200) it'd only make sense to release the third entry in the series on GoG as well in any case.

I don't know, the dev comments in the Steam thread sound pretty definitive.

EDIT:
Also just noticed the OP's user name, and I am very pleased. Although I was always partial to Blood Reavers, but Raw Steel is my 2nd choice :P

I guess if the developers simply don't want to have the game here, that's fine. No shortage of (apparently better) boomer shooters here on GOG. Bit dissapointed I won't be able to play it, but I suppose I can wait.

Nice to see someone who clocks the name meaning.

I can't wait....i've wasted how much time already saying the exact same thing for who knows what every now and then, that I have a backlog that might rival K2 in some ways. As such, I have decided to cut that phrase out of my vocabulary and replace it with something like "waiting is dum, tyme to git games and git gud" :D

backlog = all the older games that you already own and that are waiting to be played because otherwise it would feel like a waste of money buying them in the first place.

But you are talking about FOMO. You don't want to wait any longer for new games to be released on GOG. So you give in and go buy them somewhere else to play them while they are still hot and trending. Well, gl&hf. :-)

I meant that I am trying to play more games right away(old or classic) when I buy them instead of relagating them to my backlog. This of course includes some that are more recently released. Also thx :)

You may wanna post that here.

Personally, I always assumed/hoped that GOG's refusal to take down the page may mean that they are simply delaying GOG's release and lying about it, to cash in on double dippers and to force any potential impatient pirates to buy on Steam.

That's actually a good approach. Sometime, I should try that myself. Maybe make it my next New Year's resolutions.

Just don't put it off too long(i've found that things often become bigger mental hurdles the longer one delays) ;)
Me? I just finished a few games recently....a more recent one being The Fidelio Incident(a short yet decent walking sim).
