Is it only RE fans who hate the movies? Or does everyone have to hate of these films. As a stand alone franchise if you're not expecting the some sort of rehash of the games they're good solid zombie movies.

To me, any zombie movie is still more entertaining than 95% of the stuff Hollywood squeezes out.

Some good ones I saw recently; Alive (South Korean), One Cut of the Dead (Japanese), What We Become (Danish).
Also 'All of us are Dead' (Korean), and I guess 'The Last of Us' counts as well. I find a lot of the better cinema these days is series anyway, rather than movies.
