OldFatGuy: Well, as long as we're talking numbers.....
The year was 1983, and my son was less than a year old. Living in northern Virginia (Loudoun County), we had a blizzard that covered the cars so that the only thing we could see was the antennas sticking up (back in the days when cars didn't have the antennas in their windshield). It was the biggest snow storm I had ever seen, and remained so for the rest of my life and all of my son's.
Until today. I never thought I'd see anything beat that, but this one does. I'm sure we're at 3 feet and still counting. My mailbox is almost covered. My car in the driveway is nothing but a big hump.
And it's still snowing like hell.
I was hoping that record from 1983 would never be broke. I sure as hell hope not to ever see this one broke. Damn what a bunch of snow. I'm sure there are many who live in places where 3 feet of snow is nothing, but for a mid-Atlantic state, not far from Washington, DC, this is just unbelievable. (Sorry, no pics. I don't even own a cell phone to take one with and I'm not carrying my laptop out there to take a photo.)
