I think the title says it all. I want to know how much money I currently have, but I can't figure out how. This is my first time playing the game and I got the hang of everything else, I just need a little help with the bartering system.
Thanks.
you can see how many bottlecaps (yup. these are money :) ) you have in your inventory.
Thanks, I wasn't aware bottlecaps were post-apocalyptic currency. :/
Do yourself a big favour and have a look at the pdf manual that came with the download - it's a very entertaining read - not like modern game manuals! :)
See the cap on that bottle Nuka-Cola is your returned deposit... Too bad that Cola is warm and flat.

I actually did look through the manual before I posted my question, and while it is entertaining (for a game manual nonetheless), I either didn't find or overlooked anything about bottlecaps.

I wasn't saying you should have looked in the manual and found the answer - I was just saying to everybody not to forget to check out the entertaining manual! :)
Yeah, bottle-caps are currency, but really, it works best if you learn to remember how much what you're carrying and not using is worth. Then, you can't really carry all that much, but I recommend carrying about 80% of your inventory in cheap expendable items, and if you find really useful stuff, then picking it up. More handy if you have a helper to barter with, though, like Ian.
