Celebrating the Fallout week on GOG.com, David Craddock together with Tim Cain and Chris Taylor from the former Black Isle Studios takes you behind-the-scenes of the Fallout 1 development process.
By the mid-1990s, the once-fertile landscape of computer role-playing games had degenerated into a desolate wasteland. The genre was stagnating, with many developers embracing regurgitation over innovation after achieving success with a particular formula, or flocking to consoles in an attempt to cash in on the success of Japanese RPGs.
Nice retrospective, i want more!
That was an awesome editorial -- my favorite, yet, GOG!

I enjoyed it too, thanks for putting this together!
This was really great!
I love GOG for this and BIS/TROIKA/OBSIDIAN for existing and giving us such and awesome games.
Well, in Troika's case, for past existance.
Hey Tim, how about joining Obsidian? It is a waste of your talents working on MMO : ).
can't wait for the next one

On the contrary, maybe his input will make MMOs less friggin' boring.
Very good editorial! I grew up with fallout, and this was interesting stuff to read. Cannot wait for the second one to come out!

Heh, I did the same thing with Tandi in some plays, she wanted adventure after all, and I didn't like the village elder's attitude.
Nice!
I hope this guys work together again to bring us another awesome game.

Sorry, but Tim Cain is in the terminal stages of Garriot's Disease...no cure no hope at this point.
