Have they made improvements worth playing since 1.3? One of the worst games I've played, albeit visually stunning but there is a LOT more to a game than the graphics.
If you didn't like it previously, you won't like it now.
Combat is pretty much the same, I always felt it was pretty bad, easily the worst part of the game. I didn't notice much new, but I honestly feel like it got worse since last time I played around a year ago.

Enemies seem to nearly instantly start targeting and firing at you now, which means using even more healing items during a fight, and sticking to one piece of cover and never moving is the best option sometimes.
Netrunners actually do things now, but they're extremely annoying since they honestly just feel like another damage source you can't avoid sometimes, get hacked and use more healing items while you burn or shock, even if you feel like you shouldn't be seen by a camera or anyone.

But the gameplay is almost the exact same, it's barely an action game beyond clicking on peoples heads and more of an RPG based on stacking yourself with the highest armor, best upgrades and weapons and spamming healing consumables throughout the fight.

I wish the actual game parts were good, but the only redeeming factors are the story, visuals and music.

Its the same game. If you didn't find the story or the world it self engaging, nothing in this new patch will fix that. Still very much the same mediocre core.
if the inital game was horrible for you, then yes. it's the same game just with much less technical issues and bugs.
If your objection was that enemies were bullet sponges, then good news: they are even bigger sponges now.

If your objection was that driving was a scream-inducing experience, then good news, now it's only sigh-inducing. And the occasional tear.

If your objection was to having enemies you kill drop equipment you can't use, then good news: the requirements are higher now, so even more enemies will drop items you cannot use.

And this is from somebody who (ostensibly) likes the game.

I mean, I have 150 hours in it, so clearly I must like it to *some* extent.

Or maybe I'm a closet masochist.

It was never a horrible game but yes, it's even better now.

No you don't need to spam healing, also it was always an Rpg (thank god)
