Reznov64: My problem with PC gaming is the costs and the parts being outdated every year with new ones being made and not meeting minimum specs of certain games with every passing year.
Not looking to get into a PC vs console discussion (to each their own, and I respect that), that's actually because the PC parts are upgraded so quickly, so does the games need to be to fully utilize those improved components (which, frankly, NO ONE needs - that's just marketing). Same with consoles - you want to play the newest titles, you need to buy a new console.
And you can do a lot more with a PC than a console. No idea if you can check the email or watch a movie on a console. I chose PC because I can do everything on it - including my job. And if you have a RTX 4070...that thing rivals my RTX 3080 - at almost half the price. :|
But you really don't need the newest and greatest hardware unless you want to play the latest titles at max settings.
In my PC I mentioned above, I had a GTX 1080 between 2016 and 2020. And unlike consoles, older PC parts can be used for other things - use the old GPU to add more monitors, use the whole thing as a storage server, keep track of a Twitch stream (I don't know, i don't stream at all), or use it as a media center to the TV.
I don't buy into that "PC master race" BS. It all comes down to need and preference. I have had a NES, SNES, N64 and PS3 - after that, I did most things on a PC, including gaming. But then I am pretty much stuck in 2015 gaming, because i HATE online requirements (Steam can burn for all I care). Hence buying my games here on GoG.
Sad to hear you can't disable the Cyberpunk 2077 autosaves, but that's not a console exclusive issue. I got my games on an NVMe SSD, and even that stutters sometimes if there are a lot going on and THEN.the game wants to save on top of it all.
