I recently updated the game to 1.5. I read through the changelog and thought to myself: "Hmm.. 47 GB is a bit big for just some Bugfixes and a few new locations." - Anyway, I started to update the game. Halfway through updating the size jumped from 47GB to 67GB for seemingly no reason. "Must be a big update if I have to re-download the entire game again, right?"

After I finally finished the download after about 20 hours, split on two days, I just felt like playing Cyberpunk again.. You know, maybe finishing the playthrough I started a few months back or trying out another playstyle .. but fuck all I did as I just saw I had to download 67GB AGAIN..

I wouldn't have a problem if it was just one big update, in fact, I wouldn't even complain about because I want the game to be good and be playable and fun. But what the fuck is going on? A friend told me that the Steam Version of the game just received a, roughly, 20 GB update and another 10 GB today. Which isn't even HALF of the single "update" I had to download on GoG, not to mention the "second" one.

I, and probably a lot of people, actually would like to know what's going on here.

And for some weird reason I might just buy the game on Steam instead and just play it, since I cant on GoG.

For me the same. I'm already on 1.5 and now I should download the whole game again. I only have 1MB download and this takes me almost 17 hours.
Same here. I don´t know what is going on.
Please CDPR in 2022 you guys should be able to apply binary differential patches.
Having to re-download the entire game just because some of the files got updated makes you guys look really unprofessional.
You guys want to compete amongst the of platforms, so if you guys want to play with the adults start behaving like them. Differential patching technologies exist for years, so implement that in your Galaxy client.
Same here, this is kinda ridiculous. Finished patching to 1.5, but now 67GB again? For what? Seems more like a bug tbh.
Was excited to play game, just to get hit by this BS, this is embracing.
Deleted game until they be done with "hotfixes"
The game is not playable after update. Don't update.
Works perfectly after fix patch, though the size is ridiculous.
Have someone tried verifying the instalation instead of applying patch? Maybe it would be a faster approach.
The update on Steam is only a fraction of the size...

That's because Steam applies binary patches. You only download the actual differences between the files, plus the instructions on where to apply them,

For some reason, CDPR cannot do that on Galaxy. It may be tied to the fact that steam forces you to update and Galaxy doesn't, so Galaxy cannot rely on you having the correct version... But then, have the system hash the file before deciding which version of the patch to download.

It's not rocket surgery.
