olnorton: Probably better of without her then.
Once you Dual Class someone, they are pretty useless until they get their old skills back.
What level was she when you Dualled her?
hercufles: she is lvl 2 thief and lvl 2 mage i need a mage so since she got a high int.
Note:
Once you dual class, you can no longer level up in the previous class.
- lvl'ed 2 thief , and then use dual class..then the thief class will always stay frozen at level 2.
- lvl 2 thief bonus is applied to dual class, if the current class (like the 'mage' you choose) is at lvl 3 and above.
ie..you will get bonus of previous class when; you are at lvl 2 thief and lvl 3 mage (+ above).
Note: I didn't know that once you dual class, you can't level up in older class ever again...me and my friend had to restart a multiplayer BG game (BGT) after playing for like 3-4 hours because I dual classed myself and Imoen at lvl 2.
-Edit-
Its best to dual class when you feel that the bonus'es from the first class are good enough on the second class.
So if you are playing BGT or plan to import your own character into BG2 from BG1, then its better to only dual class at later levels..ideally its around 7-13 across different classes. Where you'd like to get maximum bonuses moved to your dual class'ed character, by not wasting experience points.
For warrior types, its best to start dual classing after level 9 or 10 if you have high constitution, (because they get maximum hit points bonus while they level up as warriors; fighters, rangers and barbarian)
