I have heard a lot of good things about ascension and was planning on installing it. I have already installed most of the ones from the recommended mod list. Would there be any issues with installing ascension after all of those?

It shouldn't have any issues. At least I have encountered none. Of course if you have some mod altering the same thing it could cause some incompability but then it will probably notify you during installation and you can skip this part.
Well there is a proper mod installation order in theory (install patch first, then content, then tweaks) and some mods need to be installed in a specific order relative to each other to play nice, but provided you only install weidu mods that's more of a guideline than strictly necessary.
Ascension always goes first in the mod installation. ALWAYS. Even before the Fixpack. The thing with Ascension is because it is so old it actually replaces files instead of patching them so installing it so late will no doubt screw your installation.

Sorry but that's outdated information, ever since Ascension was repackaged with Weidu.

Please try to keep your knowledge up to date before you start claiming things that are not true.
Lol no, just no. Unless you're using BP Ascension goes at the top otherwise good luck with overwriting a whole lot of spells and that's not even all. In general, when installing multiple mods, it matters which order you install them in. A rough guide is:

1. The Ascension mod.
2. The BG2 Fixpack.
3. Mods which change the spell or item systems.
4. Mods which add new quests and similar game content.
5. Mods which add new joinable characters.
6. Mods which tweak aspects of gameplay.
