Hi,

I'm using widescreen mod for the classic BG2, but everything on higher resolutions (but still below 1080p) makes the UI barely readable and consequently the game is very tiring to the eyes.

Is there any mod or way to scale the original UI, or is changing the display's resolution the walkaround?

I'm not aware of a scaled UI mod for the classic version.

But keep in mind you don't have to (and probably shouldn't) use your native screen resolution for the widescreen mod. Try dividing your resolution by 2 or 3. As long as your chosen resolution is evenly divisible with your native resolution, it should still look pretty good. For example, if using a 2560x1440 display, select 1280x720 when configuring the mod. That should give you a nice, clean interger upscale while adding wide-screen support and keeping the UI at a fairly readable size.

There is this mod that might be just the answer. Going to try it out on a 1080p setup here shortly. :)

From what I understand, that mod doesn't resize/upscale the UI, it just repositions/centers all the UI elements more cleanly for a 16x9 aspect ratio -- and it only works at a 1280x720 resolution. But let us know what you find...
Thank you very much for the responses. I guess it's the second best thing available, to set 720p. The mod makes too little difference for me.
