Despite Homecoming's reputation, I love it, because back in 08 this was my introduction to SH games (prior to playing it I saw the film and was aware of games, but never played them.), and made me fall in love with series. I can't even tell how many hours I've spent since then playing all the Silent Hill games and of course, listening to hauntingly beautiful Akira Yamaoka soundtracks. Homecoming may well deserve some of the critisims it gets, but sadly all the stuff the game gets right often gets overlooked, some due to poor technical performace and bugs. And while the steam version is available it's notoriously broken. I hope GOG can give this game the same update and makeover SH4 and Alpha Protocol got, making it easily accessible and playing well on modern systems.
This is one of the Silent Hill games that needs it the most. SH2 and SH3 are fully playable without issues thanks to fan patches, but the pc port of Homecoming in its current state is completely unstable, having a fully stable version of this game would be awesome.
Underrated Silent Hill game.. Need a few fixes from the steam version like.. - QTE fixes - Crashes - resolution cap at 720p fix - Uncapped FPS - modern controller support - achievements - dodging system improvement? (because there's none)
Why Silent Hill: Homecoming Needs to Be on GOG and Why It’s an Underrated Horror Gem Silent Hill: Homecoming deserves a second chance—and a proper place on GOG to ensure its preservation and accessibility for modern players. While it may not be everyone’s favorite in the franchise, it has aged into a cult classic, with themes and design choices that are more appreciated today than at launch. First, having Homecoming on GOG would give fans a DRM-free version that runs smoothly on modern systems without hassle. The original PC release had limited availability and spotty support, so re-releasing it on GOG would provide an optimized version that allows players to revisit or discover the game without technical frustrations. As for why it’s underrated: Homecoming offers a raw, emotional narrative centered around guilt, loss, and family trauma. Alex Shepherd is a compelling protagonist, and the game’s creature design directly ties into his subconscious fears and memories. Its combat system is more action-oriented, which turned off some fans initially, but it actually adds a new layer of intensity to the horror—especially in close-quarters encounters. The soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka is haunting, and the atmosphere captures the eerie, oppressive tone that defines Silent Hill. Combined with strong visuals for its time and psychological depth, Homecoming stands as a misunderstood entry that deserves more recognition—and a new life on GOG.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange JourneyIn the near future, a mysterious, growing, black void appears at the Earth's southern pole. Unable to determine its cause and powerless to stop its deadly encroachment, humanity sends an elite team of explorers into the heart of the phenomenon, just as Strange Journey's look and feel represent a return to the heart of Shin Megami Tensei, bringing to mind the all-time classic Nocturne. With over 300 demons to bribe, coerce, and negotiate with to gain assistance in battle, Strange Journey is every bit the deep, rewarding RPG experience fans have come to expect from the SMT franchise, yet delivered with a fresh new sci-fi story that taps into mature themes of morality and introspection.

Shin Megami Tensei II
Shin Megami Tensei IIFifty years have passed since the hero of Shin Megami Tensei followed the neutral path, defeated the leaders of Law and Chaos, and founded a state where followers of both ideologies could live freely. But his reign of freedom doesn't last long. The Messian faith gains power, expanding the Cathedral into a new enclosed environment named Tokyo Millennium. The Gaians rise up, but their rebellion is repressed by the Messians' elite warrior class, the Temple Knights. People flock into the encapsulated city, submitting themselves to the strict hierarchy imposed by the Messian Center, where only the privileged living in the Center district are safe from demonic assaults. A few years later, a retired arena fighter Okamoto rescues a man named Hawk, who was fighting for his life against a demon. He trains him to fight in the arena of the Valhalla district, hoping that he would win the tournament, which will grant them both citizenship in the Center district. When Hawk succeeds, he is brought before a Messian bishop, and learns the shocking truth about his own origins and the role he is supposed to play in the grand scheme of events. A new battle for a better future begins. Shin Megami Tensei II retains all the gameplay features of the previous game. The player is able to summon demons, fuse them to create more powerful ones, make them participate in battles, talk to random enemies and receive information from them, etc. The combat is turn-based, and the player explores the complex, maze-like dungeons from a first-person perspective view. Like in the first game, the Law, Chaos, and Neutral alignments play an important role: during the course of the game, the player will have to make choices that influence the alignment of the protagonist, steering the storyline into different directions. New features include a "magic succession" system, which allows demons to carry over their original magic spells when they are fused into new ones, a few additional spells and abilities, and the possibility to play at the casino and win unique items.
