This is the Ridge Racer game that could have gotten the series back on track, but was cancelled. It was, however, far enough along that finishing it would be viable.
It's hard to share memories of a game that was never released, but I am a huge fan of Ridge Racer and have been for years, especially, but not only, after its mid-00s fleshing-out in the form of Ridge Racers, Ridge Racers 2, Ridge Racer 6, and Ridge Racer 7. I've always considered it one of the hallmarks of a brand of racing that hasn't been getting nearly enough attention of late, and even though it's had some missteps - Unbounded, Driftopia, Draw n' Drift, arguably Vita (at least in its implementation) - the core game has always been there and has aged remarkably when treated right. I was gutted to learn about this eighth mainline installment for the Nintendo Switch that was cancelled before it could even be announced, as it would have found its way into my Switch library very quickly. As things stand now, I regard it as a prime example of the good the GoG Dreamlist can do, perhaps resurrecting the project and giving it a new lease on life on the PC.
Those games also need your vote!

Moorhuhn Kart
Moorhuhn KartMoorhuhn's first venture into the racing genre. This kart racing game features a number of new characters that are to be introduced as members of the Moorhuhn-Family (known from the Moorhuhn shooters). The game features comic-style 3D-graphics, 5 different drivers - each with its own driving style - and 3 different game modes. The whole concept reminds one of the Mario Kart games. The player chooses a character, either Moorhuhn itself or Lesshuhn, Snowman or Pumpkinhead. The game's objective is to win the race, of course, but your opponent will try everything in their power to keep your chosen character from winning by sending you off the racetrack. To achieve this they resort to things like weights, water bombs, chewing gum, boards larded with nails or even rockets. But the player can also find these so called power-ups, small packages that can be found at random order on the racetrack. Unfortunately, you do not know what is in the packages until they are opened which adds a little surprise to the action. The kart is controlled using the arrow keys on the keyboard, but one can also use a Windows compatible gamepad. The XL version lacks the Duel mode and two courses.

Demolition Racer
Demolition RacerDemolition Racer is a racing game with a twist. Rather than a game that just requires you to try and win the race, this game gives you points to destroy the other racers' cars. The game has many styles of game play so you don't have to play the same style each game. There are 5 game styles in the Single Race section of the game. This section does not count towards unlocking cars or tracks. It is for practice and just plain fun. The main style is Demolition. In Demolition, you race against other cars around the track and get points for hitting them, spinning them in circles and knocking them into the wall. You also get a big bonus for landing on top of a car which will immediately destroy the car. When you finish the race, your final position is found by multiplying the points you got from hitting the other cars with the points that you got for the position you finished in. So if you finish first, but never hit anyone, you won't win the race.
