A game that truly understands the eerie feel of FROM Software's debut series, King's Field (which the infamous Souls-like genre inherited its DNA from.) There's a certain something to your first time playing this game blind that feels right out of the early 90s where games could be truly cryptic and required exploration and experimentation.
This game actually reminds me of many games from around the same time period as Kings Field and many PS1 games... I miss it, stuff like this. Has a nice medieval theme to it, while reminding me of PS1 Lara Croft but also many early first person shooters, as well as games like Medievil on the PS1 and of course a bit of Runescape, if it was single player, first person and more like Kings Field. I like how it isn't as dark as dark souls but still has a challenge and old school feel to it (not just in looks, but in mechanics as well). Your screen isn't bloated with colourful, distracting stuff like modern day and it doesn't give me a visual headache like games like Fortnight do. Lighting is balanced and godrays don't overpower everything, when 343 came along, they added far too many god rays to Halo instead of trying to continue creating games that had the tasteful, unique visual style that Halo had. So many games these days rely on that kind of thing, instead of a tasteful design that could potentially last for much longer. Heck, even Halo CE's design still hasn't aged that much since it's release- sure, technology has come a long way but it's style remains unique and the feel as well to the point where I enjoy it all alongside the mechanics far more than I do Halo 4. Anywho, that kind of conversation could go on forever and can be different for everyone. I would rather have a fun game like Lunacid than a game with the best, most realistic graphics possible for the time. Quality like this is hard to find these days. I might grab it on sale on Steam around Decemeber if it isn't released on Gog this year, but will still be holding out for the time it does come to this platform as I'd prefer to own it on here than on Steam

Age of Empires: Online
Age of Empires: OnlineAge of Empires Online is a multiplayer online real-time strategy game developed by Robot Entertainment and Gas Powered Games, which released on August 16, 2011. Based upon the gameplay of the Age of Empires series, it was originally developed by Robot Entertainment, but on February 24, 2011, Gas Powered Games, took over production. The game was published by Microsoft. The game was free-to-play—it was free for users to play, though premium content could be earned or purchased, such as access to special items and blueprints, and more quests and features. On March 27, 2012, the game premiered on Steam after a major overhaul patch which addressed complaints of an "MMO-like grind" and many other features, along with the debut of the Celtic civilization. On June 15, 2012 the premium content system was changed to offer the option to purchase all past and future content through "Empire points" earned in game, or by purchasing the points directly with real world money. As of January 3, 2013, Microsoft ceased further development on the game. A Microsoft representative later announced on the forums that on August 22, 2013, the Games for Windows – Live Marketplace would be shut down, leaving the game only accessible by current or former players. In September 2013, it was announced that the game would remain functional until July 1, 2014 when the service would be shut down. The closure was due to the content being too expensive to maintain. In 2017, Age of Empires Online was reestablished using Microsoft's publicly released developer-kit for the game and is now hosted on a server emulator known as "Project Celeste". The game can be played for free in single-player and multiplayer mode with all online features fully enabled. In May 2019, the team announced that they are developing Microsoft's unreleased Roman civilization for play based upon all known data of the civilization before the official servers were closed. It was finalized and released on March 14th, 2021
