Story:007: Quantum of Solace is a James Bond video game based on the films Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Several different versions of the game were released across seven platforms, with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC designed as first-person shooters and the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS as third-person shooters. It is powered by the Call of Duty 4 game engine. The core gameplay in Quantum of Solace is that of a first-person shooter. Throughout the game, however, the view will switch to a third-person view to emphasize that the player is playing as James Bond. This third-person view will be used with a cover system and quick time events, among other scenarios. An example is using quick time events to chase Mollaka during a level that is a recreation of the construction site chase at the beginning of the Casino Royale film.Show more

Why 007: Quantum of Solace Should Be on GOG 007: Quantum of Solace is one of the most underrated James Bond games, blending the intensity of the Daniel Craig era with solid first-person shooter mechanics. Released in 2008 and built on the Call of Duty 4 engine, the game features a seamless mix of first-person gunplay and third-person cover-based combat, setting it apart from other Bond titles. The game doesn’t just adapt Quantum of Solace—it also covers the full story of Casino Royale, giving players the chance to relive both of Craig’s first two Bond missions in one action-packed experience. Missions range from tense stealth sequences to explosive shootouts in exotic locations, all accompanied by the gritty realism and emotional tone of the films. Despite its quality and faithful adaptation, Quantum of Solace is no longer available digitally, making it inaccessible to most modern players. That’s why GOG is the perfect home for this title. With DRM-free access, modern PC compatibility, and controller support, GOG could bring this Bond gem back to life—without needing a launcher or old hardware. For fans of cinematic shooters and the modern Bond legacy, 007: Quantum of Solace absolutely deserves a second shot—only on GOG.
The multiplayer for this was absolutely peak. Some of the missions in the campaign were truly ahead of their time, nothing quite scratches the James Bond itch like this.
The PS2 version of this game is pretty much a different game compared to the main release and I believe multiple versions differ... Miss PS2 games. The PS2 version of this game seems to be the most fun, despite it being a back-port. This is similar to the Ghost busters game, which also has versions that differ somewhat drastically. These are both from the era when it was common to release different variations or completely different games with the same name. Sims 2 is also a classic example
