**Why *Godzilla Online* (1998) Should Be on GOG and Why It’s the Best Godzilla Game Ever** *Godzilla Online* (1998) may be a forgotten relic to some, but for fans who experienced it during its original run on GameStorm, it was a groundbreaking and unforgettable multiplayer experience. Built around the 1998 Godzilla film, the game dropped players into a real-time, top-down battlefield in Manhattan—where they could play as soldiers, scientists, or even baby Godzillas in a fast-paced online warzone. What made *Godzilla Online* so special wasn’t just the novelty of controlling monsters or dodging Godzilla’s devastating attacks—it was the asymmetrical gameplay, innovative team dynamics, and a true sense of chaos and unpredictability. It combined PvP and PvE elements in a way that was way ahead of its time. Few games in the franchise have captured the raw energy of a city under siege like this one did. Despite its primitive graphics by today’s standards, *Godzilla Online* was loaded with charm, and its sense of scale—dodging under Godzilla's legs, watching buildings crumble—was thrilling. Plus, it was one of the first online Godzilla experiences, making it a pioneer in multiplayer kaiju gaming. Bringing it to **GOG** would allow modern players to experience this cult classic, with updated server support, preservation of its unique gameplay, and a chance to relive one of the most innovative and bold Godzilla games ever made. It deserves a second chance—and GOG is the perfect platform to keep this gem alive for new generations of kaiju fans.

Drakengard 3
Drakengard 3Drakengard 3 transports players to a medieval world where six goddess-like sisters known as "Intoners" have brought peace to the earth with their power to manipulate magic through song. Harmony is disrupted, however, when the eldest sister, Zero, attempts to murder her younger sisters with the help of her dragon companion, Mikhail. As the story progresses, players find themselves in a battle to unravel the mystery of Zero and learn her true intentions. A prequel to the original Drakengard, Drakengard 3 features the series’ signature brand of action, pitting players against hordes of fiends and foes in remorseless hack-and-slash ground combat, and then sending them soaring for pitched aerial battles on the back of the dragon Mikhail.

Drakengard
DrakengardDrakengard follows the story of a kingdomless prince named Caim who fights for the Union against the Empire. Under the Union's protection are the Hierarchs and the Goddess, currently Caim's sister Furiae, who is a human manifestation of one of the four seals that protect the world from being broken. As the game begins, Cain is fatally wounded in a battle with the Empire. Encountering a captured Red Dragon who is also near death, Caim makes a fateful choice. In exchange for both their lives, the Red Dragon and Caim will enter a pact. This pact will forever chain their lives to one another and link their souls, at the cost of something irreplaceable. Recharged with the fires of a Dragon, Caim's vengeance burns over the enemy... The player controls Caim on his quest. The game is separated into three distinct modes: Aerial combat, Ground combat and Event Combat. In Aerial Combat, Caim rides dragonback against a variety of airborne foes breathing fireballs (strong single shots and weaker multiple lock-on shots). The Dragon is agile and is able to evade incoming threats, turning around completely in a moment. In Ground combat, the game is shown in 3rd person though usually large, open areas. Controlling Caim, his primary ability is the use of a variety of weapons found on the battlefield. These are leveled up through continued usage, and specifically through the killing of individual enemies. Though magic (determined by weapon choice), timed attacks and evasion, Caim breaks through enemy armies. Characters recruited as allies by Caim can also be summoned during battles, steadily losing health until control is returned to Caim. In ground combat, Caim may also call forth his Dragon to ride and strafe enemies from the air. The Dragon's movements are generally the same as in aerial combat but more limited and less agile. Event combat is similar to Ground combat, but shown isometrically, restricted to a single weapon and without the aid of a dragon. It is used mainly to tell story sequences. Levels that have been visited before might become "Expedition Missions" which are optional and contain new objectives, enemies and weapons. Additionally, any level previously played in the storyline may be revisited at any time. Depending on Caim's choices (and prerequisites for those choices), there are five different endings to Drakengard.

Drakengard 2
Drakengard 2Drakengard 2 is a direct sequel to the original Drakengard: the story revolves around Nowe, a boy raised by the dragon Legna, fighting against a tyrannical faction of Knights, encountering characters from the previous game and becoming entangled in the fate of the world. Like the original, Drakengard 2 combines on-foot hack and slash with aerial combat stages and RPG game mechanics. The previous game's producer, writer and character designer returned to their respective roles. The game was designed as a more mainstream game in light of the previous game's dark aesthetic and story. The game sold 206,000 copies by the end of 2005. Western reviews praised the story, but gave mixed opinions about the graphics and widely criticized the gameplay.
