50 Cent: Blood on the Sand

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand (2009)

by Swordfish Studios, Bethesda Softworks, THQ
Genres:Shooter
Themes:Action
Game modes:Single player, Co-operative, Multiplayer
Story:The game revolves around rapper 50 Cent. The co-player's character can be one of three other members of the G-Unit crew: Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, or DJ Whoo Kid, each specializing in different combat techniques. The co-player is either run by the game or through online cooperative play. The game is set in an urban warzone in an unnamed Middle Eastern country, where 50 Cent and G-Unit have been hired to play a rap concert. After the concert the promoter, Anwar is unable to pay them the US $10-million in cash he promised, but relents after being threatened. However, instead of the cash they were promised, he gives them a diamond-and-pearl encrusted human skull (bearing a striking resemblance to a platinum cast diamond encrusted skull by artist Damien Hirst) as collateral. This is promptly stolen by a paramilitary group led by the terrorist Kamal. 50 Cent (with the help of a selected G-Unit partner) decides to get it back at any cost and they soon find there is a much bigger enemy than Kamal. In the video game, he kills Kamal, Anwar, his enemies and he retrieves his skull.Show more

This game was just so much dumb fun. It's pure action and has hilarious moments, sometimes on purpose, sometimes not... "HIT THAT RAMP 50!" This game needs a PC release stat!

This game is pure arcade bliss, regardless of the subject material; It's hood gears of war, with over the top explosions and lots of enemies to blast away. The story is somewhat short, and kind of nonsensical, but it adds to the overall charm; There's just something about 50 Cent blasting his way through Iraq, while listening to 50 cent music, all because he was shorted 10 million dollars. It plays well, the co-op was fun, it feels good to go for high scores; Shame this never made it's way to PC, but would be really easy given it's done in Unreal 3. "Where'd she go? That ***** took my skull!" - 50 Cent, 2009

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
Resident Evil: The Umbrella ChroniclesResident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles is the first natively developed for the Wii console. Unlike the other games focused on free exploration, this title is an on-rails shooting game with fixed movement and perspectives. While playing, the camera floats to different areas and players shoot enemies on the screen, picking up ammo, weapons and health kits in the progress. In some situations, the controller can also be used as a melee weapon or in timed sequences. Some levels feature multiple paths and there are regular checkpoints. At the end of a level, the player's performance is awarded by stars, which can be exchanged for weapon upgrades. The game supports the Wii Zapper and features cooperative gameplay for up to two players.
