Ability to mark games as owned/ignored
Second to Ignore Game/Ignore Developer/Ignore Publisher. Being able to just put a SEP field over the Kagura Games would lead to a lot less colorful razzing from yours truly. And I know I'm a thorn in the side of the GOG staff, so anything to make their job easier!
Ignore games, ignore company, ignore Prologue/Demo and Tag filter please. Thank you
There's no excuse for this feature not existing here. It would work far better than ignoring tags, especially since occasionally there are games with no tags attached to them that feature content I don't want to see.
The store experience is so exhausting without this feature; I'm so tired of seeing the same games I have no interest for times and times again...
really irritating gog keeps forcing users to wade through mountains of trash as we go into 2024
I'm in in terms of adding "Ignore Game" for sure. There is plenty bad indie games that are just crap in my taste but I see them every time.
This will never happen in a million years. GOG can't even figure out a way of permanently deleting games/demos from accounts like you can on Steam. I don't think the guys at GOG are that smart.
I can't believe this isn't a higher priority for marketing. You get so few chances to have me engage with the store, why would you waste those precious opportunities showing me games I already own and/or will never buy? A page full of games I don't own engages my curiosity. A page full of games I already own or don't care about disengages me entirely.
Get tired of seeing games I own show as not owned as I have the "collection" "game of year version" etc
I could mark them owned.
Every week or so, the store has new games on sale but most of these were already on sale the previous week. Browsing through the same hundred of games you already saw and turned down previously gets old real fast. If you don't want people to just stop browsing altogether, you need this option.
Please add ASAP - it's really disadvantage over steam
With the new 'Discover' page, this feature is more important than ever. How can I discover new games when everything you show me, I either am explicitly not interested in, or already own?
I'd love to ignore games which don't interest me or I own on a different platform or own physically.
Yes, please. It's embarrassing to browse the store and be flooded with images of suggestible sexual content when my wife and daughter are within eye distance. Steam gives you the option, why not GOG?
PLEASE make this possible. Especially now that GOG has decided to add some of what I would classify as "Steam trash" to the selection. I understand that you need to expand the range since old games don't exactly multiply and remasters of old games only come at a slow drip, but at least give me the ability to not have to rifle through the garbage every single time there is a sale. I've gotten to the point where I'll pass up a sale on occasion just because I don't want to look through 20-50 pages of things that I already know I'm 100 % not interested in or already have on another plattform.
This feature is needed urgently. The store front, for me at this point, is covered by recommendations of games that I am dead set on not buying as I already own, or genuinely have no interest in. I literally get information on good deals here from aggregate sites like IsThereAnyDeal.
+1 !
I'm fed up with strategy games... Of course MANY times, Strategy games are in the bargain bin I guess It's not as easy to sell as it seems...). It rather "easy" to navigate for the moment.. but it won't be that easy, in 5 years from now....
I agree. An 'ignore' button would be especially useful now that GOG is letting whatever porn games into the store.
It would be a very QOL implementation, and people would be able to seek better what they have affinity, instead of all this bloat of things spamming their screen. Potentally losing some gems...
Steam has this feature. I always go to Steam first before I got to GOG, Epic, Nintendo, or Playstation stores. I use Steam as a reference since I have so many games. I will always see Steam's sales first and buy from them since it is easier for me for my reference. I have currently 1171 games on Steam. I would have happily split them between GOG and Steam but it wasn't an easy task because GOG doesn't have this feature. If you want more money, then implement this feature. Do it before my wishlists run dry.
This could also work to mark games where there's a complete edition on GOG and a piece-wise version (all the parts separately) as buying the complete edition doesn't mark the piece-wise parts as owned either.
Yes, preferably with the 2 options Steam just added to theirs: 1) Ignore completely (affects game recommendations), 2) Ignore because I own the game on another platform (does NOT affect game recommendations.
Hear! Hear!
"...give the customer control over what they see displayed..."
I almost never use GOG anymore except wishlisted items.
Steam is my go-to for this ONE REASON.
I would like to have an "ignore list" like the one on steam. On steam i go throw the games and add the games i want to the wishlist. I mark the games that i don't want as "ignored". When i look for new games on steam, the games that i marked as "ignored" are faded out. This way i can easily skip the ignored games and save a lot of time. I would like to see that feature on gog, too.
It is interesting to take note that Steam has just added an Ignore feature to its Steam Store so users can effectively ban games from their personal store pages.
I like this idea very much as I have since perma-banned several obnoxious game studios from mine. Lets face it, folks... Not everybody is into video game porn. Not everybody likes blood-n'-guts gaming. Not everybody likes competition-hating Studio destroyers like Electronic Arts. Not everybody likes politically motivated SJW shills like DONTNOD Entertainment.
My point is: Please, Gog.com! Follow Steam's lead and give the customer control over what they see displayed. Give the customer the power to Ignore games of their choosing!
