DKapple Blizzard just took back Warcraft and Warcraft II. Getting the original Starcraft on GOG would be great, but I don't see it ever happening.

steinsohn I would definitely love to see a classic retail version of Starcraft with final patch 1.17.0 on GOG: it's technically free, disk check was removed a long time ago by Blizzard themselves and it doesn't require online authentification it order to play singleplayer content (unlike digital release); I think it perfectly fits with GOG and should be preserved for posterity's sake. Also, Warcraft II is already available here and Starcraft, IMO, is way overdue.
andreasaspenberg2 i would certainly buy it. i am not sure how long the discs will still work. it would be minimal work for blizzard, as they alreay removed all DRM from it. gog have already developed a direct draw wrapper that fixes the graphical issues.

Fallout 4 recently came to GOG.
Bought the game for the Xbox One, PS4 and Steam.
I snapped up Fallout 4 GOG version the moment I heard it was available.
Bethesda just simply made more money for an old AAA game (granted it was a signifcantly lowered price) but personally I would have paid more.
So the only real consequences of Activison Blizzard selling is a GOG DRM FREE Star Craft 1 & 2 is they make a little more money from those who refuse to buy their game elsewhere.

I don't give a crap about "Free" that is being spammed that are purposely omitting the "DRM" part.
I don't care if a GOG version of Star Craft 1 and 2 doesn't allow the use of .Battle net to play online.
I also personally don't mind if I have to pay a "DRM-FREE" tax or higher price, what is important that we gamers get to keep and own a game that quite frankly is dwinding in popularity and could be better managed by a community of passionate fans of Star Craft and RTS genre in general.
This also helps in regards to 'Game preservation' when the Corporate execs get tired of games like Star Craft not pulling enough profits to satisfy their infinite greed and eventually pulling the plug on the servers.
ThatRadioGeek WarCraft 1 and 2 are on here. StarCraft is the logical next step. Make it so.

pleonazm As with WIII ROC and TFT, you can download an online installer for Starcraft from blizzard, you just have to spend some time looking for the right link. And then you need to provide a 26-character long cd key.

Sammaho Ok, I feel silly, you can press F5 to switch to the older version from the remastered, but I will still buy StarCraft Classic Anthology on GOG for a reasonable price.
Sammaho I went to Blizzard and I cannot find Starcraft Classic and expansion, which is the non remastered version. They were offering it for free, but I don't see it on their website anymore. If I had known that I would have downloaded it. I would pay a few bucks to have it on my GOG account even though classic is free. I own the remastered version, but I still want the classic version.

EdgeOfLight I feel like some people don't understand why gog is so great. Blizzard does offer it for free. But that comes with a price. you need an account and to be registrated. So still not drm-free. For such a company it's pretty sad to resort to such control about even an old product.
