Sort by purchase date
Good ol games lazy fucking devs
why doesn't this feature exist.. wth.
I was sure I had missed something. Started searching the web, came here. Apparently I hadn't missed anything. Unbelievable this isn't built in. VERY frustrating.
Why a basic feat such as this is missing?
We love GOG but GOG doesn't love us back
Only sorting type I use on the website. Makes Galaxy super hard to use without.
You guys know they actually had this, right? And then removed it?
GoG aren't just incompetent, I think they genuinely despise the community that pays them. Wonder what they'd think if we all went back to Steam, the miserable turds.
On the launcher, after accessing “My Library” as described in the comments, there is a bookmark at the top left, click on it to create a shortcut to (GOG.com) on the left side.
One addendum: After the 5 steps (or when you hit your bookmark of the resulting page), there's an option in the top-right:
Sort By: [can pick Purchase Date]
That's not available in the Owned Games screen, but it IS available in the My Library screen.
Ozzy the savior with the steps to "hot-fix" solution it right there.
@distante It is implemented if you follow the steps I listed
This is a very important filter that I am constantly looking for and then remember that it is not implemented
Probably want to bookmark that afterward ;) (hit the Ribbon button to store it in the left panel under "GoG Store")
So there is actually a way to do this, but it is rather roundabout.
1. in GoG Galaxy, go to Owned Games.
2. Pick a game you purchased from GoG
3. Click the More button (the icon with the 2 sliders)
4. "View In Store"
5. Click "Go To My Library"
...
Profit!
there shouldn't be even a vote for this. This is basic functionality.
Why is this not added?
Can't believe this 4 year old thread has to be dug up every then and now.
Simple, but extremely helpfull. Remember those games you gor during the last sale? No? Mei neither. Let's sort by date of purchase or date of addition to library ... Oh, wait.
@Devs ... I have no words. Just, please finaly add it.
It's pretty crazy that this isn't a feature in the app yet. Should be very simple to implement and will bring a LOT of value!
Add this. It's so annoying having to go to the website every time to see what games I recently bought so I can install them.
This REALLY Needs to happen. Otherwise games just disappear into the pile. I shouldn't have to have a scrap of paper with what I recently bought to remind me of what games to try - but I do!
This needs to be implemented. While I can see the game in the purchase history the only button that works is "refund". It seems ridiculous there is no install or game page button. In Steam the most recent purchased games are at the top of the list allowing me to install from there.
Add this please
Please gog,implement this!
should have the "new in library" slash "date added" since the Steam integration is still broken and you've had to add games manually for a while now
Should absolutely be there; version 1 had it.
Organised my Steam library into 'year of purchase' categories. Its a nice way to break up the mass of titles into something approachable. Made it a mission to actually play everything I have bought over the decades. I'm getting there now... It would be nice to do the same for the GoG library.
I do not understand why it take so long to implement such a simple functionality. It's a simple SQL Query!!!
I installed 2.0 thinking it's been years since it was beta. They should have fixed the complaints people have been having about this thing by now. They STILL haven't implemented this. Lemme guess the reason - gog is like CDPR, 99 middle managers and PR people for ever one developer.
I don't understand how this is not an option when there's the "New In Library" Section that does exactly this, but only for the last 10 added games.
I've got 1017 games so I need this feature.
Now that I have more than 10 games on GOG I wish this feature existed.
Having to individually search for the games you just bought adds a step of "friction" to the customer experience that absolutely does not need to be there.
While Steam doesn't give you the option to explicitly sort by purchase date, what it does do is send recent purchases straight to the top of the "recent activity" sort, which is just as good for my use case.
I vote for implementation.
Hey GOG, Sort by Date Purchased. This must be one of the easiest features to implement. We all have different reasons for wanting it, meaning there are thousands more people who would also like it for those reasons.
Please gieve
Yes please +1
Finding new games in my collection without this is a huge bother

I'm not going to 2.0 without this feature. I've got about 300 games, and with sales, got 10-20 that I've not played yet.
How the hell has it been several years that people keep complaining about it, but nothing happens? All the required data is present, the GOG website can list everything by purchase date, so there's no reason why Galaxy shouldn't be able to.
If it's about "but we don't get dates for games purchased at Steam or Epic", then screw it, who needs it.
This regression is what's keeping me from updating to 2.0.
I do not understand how this is not an option to use and how it is that more people do not request this obvious feature.
+1
Yeah please GOG , we need this.
Lacking this obvious feature is frustrating. I will consider to move to back to steam.
I really need this. I am a good customer and have ~450 games in my list. When I just purchased something, especially a bundle, it is a chore to search for everything and install it. Please add this. I really liked the old Galaxy better. :/
Please return this simple feature to Gog Galaxy. It's annoying when the time comes to backup games.
I came here specifically to find this request and upvote it. And now, I'm going to delete Galaxy 2 and install back Galaxy 1.
Overall, it baffles me what CD Projekt Red are trying to do here. They take a client that works perfectly well, smash it to bits and glue them back, only inside out and back to front. Was anyone really clamouring to launch Steam games from the GOG client? Has IGDB integration made someone's live better? Was the old Galaxy too reliable, easy to use and good looking?
I switched from Steam because it was a jumbled buggy mess that wouldn't stop getting in the way when I just wanted to play games and now GOG is becoming more like Steam.
No, no no, Ranger!!! Isnt only ONE way :)))
I must use translator:
Gog is a large company, the largest gaming company in Europe, which can safely afford to incorporate and program the MOST IMPORTANT function of each gaming client, which is: Sorting games by date of purchase.
If you GOG.com users keep "resigning" and being content with everything in your life, you will just be a dumb sheep shoving a "shit" under your nose and eating it without grumbling.
We gamers who feed this company with our money must never accept such an act, where GOG is completely indifferent to adding one of the MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF EVERY GAME CLIENT to its Galaxy 2.0. AND THAT: ORDERING GAMES BY DATE OF PURCHASE.
That's why I urge our players not to buy any games on the GOG.com platform until this company hears the wishes of those who feed it. So us, the customers. Until then, we can support game developers directly through their website, or shop on Steam (where the client is perfect), or on the Itch.io platform, where it also works flawlessly.
I apologize, but a big company like GOG has to touch for money, otherwise nothing will change.
I have supported your suggestion but we also need to have sort by update date and easier download access , I suggested all here : www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/easier_download_of_new_purchases_and_updates
Ditto, I always sorted by this in my library. I know the games show under "Recent" on the left menu bar but the library sort is better.
