The Opportunity We're looking for a Data & Analytics Manager to drive GOG's data strategy and lead our analytics practice. In this role, you'll shape how we use data to make product decisions, optimize our marketplace, and enhance our user experience. You'll lead a talented team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers while maintaining hands-on involvement in key analyses and strategic initiatives. This role reports to the Head of Product.

Responsibilities:

Your Impact Strategic Leadership (40% of role)

  • Develop and execute GOG's data strategy, identifying opportunities for leveraging analytics and machine learning to drive business growth
  • Partner with Product and Marketing leaders to define and track key metrics, ensuring data-driven decision making across the organization
  • Lead and mentor a small team of data scientists, analysts, and a data engineer, fostering a culture of experimentation and analytical rigor

Hands-on Analytics (60% of role)

  • Drive key analyses using our analytics stack (Metabase, PostHog, SQL) to uncover actionable insights about user behavior, game performance, and marketplace dynamics
  • Design and analyze experiments to optimize conversion, retention, and engagement
  • Develop predictive models to enhance our understanding of user behavior and game performance
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting systems that enable teams to make data-driven decisions

Key Projects You'll Drive

  • Develop and implement experimentation frameworks for product features and marketing initiatives
  • Create predictive models for user behavior and game performance
  • Design and track metrics for new product features and initiatives
  • Build automated reporting and alerting systems for business KPIs
  • Optimize our marketplace mechanics through data-driven insights

Team Structure

You'll lead a high-performing team consisting of:

  • Data Scientists focused on predictive modelling and recommendation engines
  • Analytics Engineer managing our data infrastructure
  • Data Analyst supporting day-to-day reporting and analysis

You'll work closely with:

  • Product Managers to define success metrics and analyze feature performance
  • Marketing team to optimize user acquisition and engagement
  • Executive team to inform strategic decisions

Job Requirements:

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of analytics experience, with at least 2 years leading analytics teams
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization tools
  • Experience building and maintaining analytics infrastructure
  • Track record of driving product decisions through data
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimental design
  • Strong statistical knowledge and experience with predictive modeling
  • Excellence in stakeholder management and executive communication

Technical Skills

  • Expert in SQL and data visualization (Metabase)
  • Experience with product analytics tools (PostHog or similar)
  • Statistical analysis and experimentation design
  • Python or R for data analysis

Leadership Skills

  • Experience leading and mentoring technical teams
  • Strong project management and prioritization abilities
  • Excellence in cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights
