Mikee: The algorythm of choosing winners is a part of the whole mystery;)
avatar
Protoss: (my emphasis on the quote) This means, there's also some kind of Casino game coming? I mean, he talked about the whole mystery and not only about the mystery of who gets gifts.

Mikee: Hi All,
I wasn't here for a while (busy a lot with other stuff) I'll go through this "small" topic and give you some more feedback. The final hour is close;)

Ok, that's another hidden clue obviously. The Final Hour -> 11th Hour? That would really be a good old game. Maybe Wheel of Time?
Combined: "Choosing winners" and "the final hour" -> S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as in "selection of the fittest"? Final Fantasy maybe, if "choosing winners" can be read as "creating a team".
The truth is out there!

Guys, I really start to be afraid of writing anything, cause I see that almost every word could be interpreted as a clue;)
..So let move to the final stage ("final stage" pharse is not a next hint;) so:
- I won't post anymore clues;)
- I just would like you to write a final conclusion. In fact, it would be the best to see posts from as many of you as possible, to see if there is wide agreement with a final guess:)
Unfortunately, I won't be able to confirm it or give you any more clues. Announcement will assure you if you were right or not. In fact all gog team won't comment too much till the announcement;)
And then, let's celebrate and enjoy a new thing;)

captfitz: The users who are getting awards all have different things to say. Cogadh says he was all over the place, someone said that two of them thought it was EA, and the only post antifood made that was actually a straight guess (took me forever to find it) was 'It is activision.'
So that settles it: gog is getting every game ever.
Ok, but my actual guess, as I said before, is Sierra

I couldn't stop myself;-) If you use strict logic, then the answer is already given;-)
Guys, as a small break from the announcement super multi layer guessing session;-) let me self advertise:-) the small post I wrote in different topic:
http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/good_game_pricing_a_lost_art/_/last
Please excuse me this self advertising, but I hope that that this could be quite interesting how we see some things in more general scope. I promise not to advertise myself too often any more;-) (just on very special occasions;)
...aaahhh.. I forget, there is also brand new new video interview:-)))))
http://biznes.onet.pl/wideo/klip.html#6066987,c=11 but for that you need to find Polish volunteers to translate main points (there quite a few of them is on gog). Actually this might not be so interesting for you as it is more business oriented and most what I said there about GOG you already know (without 1 point as far as I remember;) actually in some areas you know far more than anybody else;)

Arteveld: On the side, Mikee, PLEEEASE work on releasing all titles in 2 languages, really, as far as i understand the needs of those who don't know the language, You are not really kind to those who love games in their original form.:P

There is one difficulty. English is international language now. Then if we choose any other language gamers from other countries won't feel so good about it. Exactly as I feel now when cannot have Polish Xbox Live, or buy music from Itunes.
But hmmm some day this difficult decision has to be made. And as a Polish company, putting here games in Polish in the first place may be understood by other nations;) We'll see...
BTW: other problem are the legal issues with a rights to translations and voices, with older games it is often quite a big legal mess, so this is a big stopping factor as well. Already tracing rights for older games is often more complicated than quests in the witcher;) We don’t want to stuck in this game;) by raising too much difficulty level (and sometimes is on the nightmare level already;)

No worries Namur, it was part of the plan :)
Oki guys, there is a reason for me to go into 100% off comments mode (actually, sleep mode at the same time;).
Have good fun!
Hey folks! So yes, lots of you guessed correctly... not sure how our rather obvious hints (especially the Ohio one) really did any less to ruin the countdown than the CNET exclusive... but hey, I do apologize if anyone took offense to seeing the news there early. As I noted in another thread, we don't get a lot of opportunities to work with big news announcements, and whether you're a fan of Activision/Sierra/etc. or not, it's obviously a rather big deal in the grand scheme if we can get front-page coverage on CNET on the same day as the iPad announcement :) So again, sorry if it offended you, but hopefully we can make it up to you with some great games!
Check out this article at Neoseeker, too -- http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Games/Features/activision_joins_gog/ -- should give you some insight into why this is a big deal, as well as the process of signing someone like this.
