This is an incredibly hardcore sim that is pretty much unplayable without a joystick.
Secondly, it's worth holding out to see if GOG manage to snap up Comanche vs. Hokum, which has both more interesting campaigns and can be linked with AvH to offer all choppers on all campaigns.

Thats odd. It seems that I must have missed that "hardcore" part when I plqayed this game for the firs time... without a joystick... when I was still in primary school. ;)
As it is a simulator of a flying machine should you play it without a joystick you'll be missing out on some of the fun. ;)
Anyway this game is great due to its dynamic campaigns and missions and I'm having a great playing it again. :)

As I don't have a console I'm not used to that kind of controler, though I've just managed to apply large quantities of destruction to my airfiled with a 360 game pad.

You are able to pilot your attack heli with XBox 360 game controller. I believe that that is what you've asked. ;)

Yeah, it's a shame, really... But I suppose the Army doesn't decide whether or not to flush billions of dollars into a project based upon just the sheer coolness of it. ;) I suppose a Kiowa Warrior + Cobras or a UAV with Hellfires do the job just as well as a Comanche would, for a fraction of the price, not to mention development costs...
