Fantastic game with all the extras. Spent a good deal of my youth playing this and made some great memories. I'd really love it if I were to be able to play again!

Haven't properly played it, because I couldn't run it on my PC back in the day. I've played the first two ardently though, with my classmates, friends, brother. Mostly at school during breaks... but not always during breaks, heh. I've been listening to the soundtracks for a few years while waiting for UT 3 to be accessible anywhere at all. Now that I remembered there was another one, I'd finally like to try it. It's pretty bizzare that a game like that basically doesn't exist digitally.

A game I have a great fondness for. I started my UT journey with the original game on my old beige box hand-me-down as a kid and my love for the series has been unshakable ever since, I would spend hours and hours playing the campaign mode, challenging myself against bots, even trying to learn the packed-in editor and even got a few LAN sessions going with my family at times. Even if I didn't manage to play against others online or try out all the custom mods and maps due to lack of internet back then, I adored every second I spent with it. Fast forward to about 2010 where my dad picked up Unreal Tournament 3 for me as a birthday gift, where I wasted even more countless hours on my Xbox 360 version. At some point I picked up the PS3 version and was blown away how much fuller of a package it was compared to the 360 version, plus the discovery that it supported mods on a console. I was blown away, I would spend so much time installing new mods and trying tons of new maps, modes and such, it was so much fun! Sure most of the mods would end up hard crashing my PS3, but that sense of discovery and playing so much of that with friends and randoms are memories I will always cherish. Soon after I would finally try UT2004 and that ended up becoming my favourite game, but no matter what form of UT I'm playing, I will always love my time with it. Unreal deserves to be beheld and loved for many future generations to come.

Unreal Tournament is such a great series... the gunplay is fun as it is, but what's even better is that you can play with friends AND you can add bots to make even a smaller game seem "epic." It's very different from Halo (which doesn't have true bot support) and so much fun to dive into. Solo play is fine with bots, but playing with your friends is so much better and of course some people are really addicted to competitive play! UT3 black just had so much polish compared to later incarnations of the game, and playing it on PC was so incredible with mod ability.

Metal Slug XX
Metal Slug XXMetal Slug XX is an entry in the long-running series of side-scrolling shooters. It is a revised version of Metal Slug 7. The Peregrine Falcons, Marco, Eri, Clark, Tarma, Fio and Ralf, are once again running-and-gunning in colorfully hand-drawn levels, throwing grenades, driving vehicles and slashing enemies. Metal Slug XX includes various single-player features in the form of a Combat School that lets players return to previously completed missions while executing various objectives; a POW List that shows how many POWs were rescued in each level; and single-player Rankings. Players can also cooperate in Ad-Hoc while gunning down hordes of humorous foes using familiar weapons in seven distinct levels that will see our heroes traverse deserts, mountains, caves and lava pits to finally put an end to their longtime enemy. This revised version includes additional content including co-op multiplayer and downloadable content, as well as the character Leona Heidern.

MechWarrior
MechWarriorIn 3017, when Herras Ragen was 12, his father Colonel Joseph T. Ragen, a soldier in the House Davion army, was working to infiltrate and destroy a renegade mercenary cartel called the Dark Wing Lance. However, he was discovered, and the Dark Wing took their revenge: somehow, they had learned the location of the Ragen family's residence. Under cover of night they attacked, killing everyone. Only young Herras, who was at a friend's house at the time of the massacre, survived. Unbeknownst to him, the Dark Wing made an agreement that after the strike, they would separate for ten years and maintain an absolute code of secrecy before regrouping again to continue their nefarious operations. Now, in 3027, that time is up. Herras, who has become a young man, has waited the last decade for his chance to take revenge. As a mercenary MechWarrior operating from the planet Galatea, with a light 'Mech in the hangar and 50.000 C-Bills in the bank, he will accept any mission that will lead him closer to finding the murderers of his family.

Touhou Youyoumu: Perfect Cherry Blossom
Touhou Youyoumu: Perfect Cherry BlossomPerfect Cherry Blossom features three playable characters to choose from, and each character has two different sets of skills. Reimu Hakurei is relatively balanced in all areas. Marisa Kirisame moves faster, and uses more powerful attacks with less range. Sakuya Izayoi moves slower, and uses weaker attacks that can hit just about everything on the screen. A major addition to Perfect Cherry Blossom is the "Cherry" scoring system. Shooting enemies increases your Cherry Points, bombing or dying decreases your Cherry Points, and reaching 50,000 Cherry Points gives you a temporary shield. Cherry Points eventually lead to a higher Cherry Gauge, which increases the points you receive from Point Items. Other important changes are the appearance of your character's hitbox while you are focused, the properties of your attacks depending on whether you are focused or unfocused, and a helpful cursor along the bottom margin during a boss battle that shows the location of the boss. This game is also unique in that it includes a "Phantasm Stage" that can be played only after clearing the Extra Stage. ZUN stated that the Extra Stage in this game was meant to be an "easy mode" version; perhaps Phantasm Stage was the original Extra Stage during development.

Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet DevilEmbodiment of Scarlet Devil features two playable characters to choose from, with two Spell Card types each. Reimu Hakurei can cover a wide area of the screen with weaker attacks, while Marisa Kirisame relies on her speed and power to make up for her thinner attack spread. The bombs show different behavior and damage depending on the character and type chosen. Unlike its predecessor, Mystic Square, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil comes with an "automatic item collection" feature, which allows you to collect all items on the screen by moving to the top of the screen if you are at full power, as well as a counter-bomb system, which allows you to avoid a fatal hit by using a bomb immediately. Though there are six total stages in the main game, playing on Easy will end the game after Stage 5.

Touhou Eiyashou: Imperishable Night
Touhou Eiyashou: Imperishable NightThis game features eight playable characters, with four starting preset teams of two and unlockable individual character modes. When playing with the character pairs, one character fires when unfocused, while the other switches in and fires when focused, with a reduction in movement speed. The two shot types can be drastically different. The individual characters, with the exception of Remilia and Youmu, do not change shot types while focusing/unfocusing. Imperishable Night features Last Spells. For the enemy, a Last Spell is a bonus Spell Card which the player can challenge without the option to use bombs and without the risk of losing lives. On the player side, Last Spells are secondary "bomb" Spell Cards, which last longer and do much more damage than normal bombs at the expense of two bomb stocks. Player Last Spells can only be used immediately after being hit, with a grace period of less than 1 second. Additionally, there is a "Time Orb" system which affects the story/score, as well as a gauge which tracks how human/youkai (normal/focused) you are and determines how you can collect more time orbs.

Touhou Fuujinroku: Mountain of Faith
Touhou Fuujinroku: Mountain of FaithMountain of Faith features two playable characters, each with three weapon types, but no personalized spell card bombs. Collecting power items results in an increase in "option" satellites around the character (for a total of four), which behave differently according to the character and weapon type. Each characters' options also fire bullets, and either shift position or freeze in place in focus-fire mode. The scoring system is based on the Faith meter, which has a refillable gauge and a numeric value (minimum 50,000). As long as the gauge is not empty, the player's Faith value doesn't decrease, but the gauge slowly depletes unless the player is defeating enemies or collecting point items. Point items also partially refill the gauge, and Faith items increase the Faith value. The Faith value directly affects the point value of point items and spell card bonuses.
